Need info on story-driven quests

All videos of this game I've watched so far show only a player or a party doing quests. From this POV the game feels like a single player or some sort of LAN party game. I'm having trouble picturing this on an MMO environment, so please if anyone can point me to the right places I'd be grateful.

Is the player/party phased out when this branching dialogue kicks in? How do the other players see you in these situations?

What happens to the quest givers after the dialogues? What about those escort/rescue quests?

I'm expecting these refugees out of my sight after this quest. I will not want to see them standing there still after I tell them to go back to HQ...

What about those quests where you end up killing the NPC? Will you simply see them again standing around after the quest?

most of the quest givers are in phased rooms, that once you walk into it, only you and your party can be seen. for cutscenes in the open world, from what i understand, the player can be seen with a speech bubble above their head.  however you won't see other players if you are in the cutscene.  According to Daniel erickson if you kill someone as part of your quest you won't see him out in the world(these moments are likely in phased or instanced areas.  i recommend searching for daniel erickson interviews since he touches on these things more often.  ill see if i can find some good ones that cover what you are looking for.
