customizable fantasy mmorpg plz + rpg, maybe?

lobstercrablobstercrab Member Posts: 18

I play City of Heros now, and im in love with the variable looks of the characters, its actually SHOCKING to see two characters that look totally the same.

However, when I goto other mmorpg, all I see are copys of my character due to lack of character customization.

City of Heros is fine, but im STARVED for real roleplay.

Anyone know of a MMORPG thats fantasy based, with high roleplay and variable customization?

..oh, and also the ability to jump, I hate feeling like my toons stuck to the ground.

..err.. and WASD movement.. though that should be kinna standard anyway.

While LOTRO is nice game, do not expect a whole lot of character customization. Sure, you have plenty of armor choices, but there are only so many presets to the actual appearances (skin color, hair style, eye color, etc).

It doesn't exactly adhere to your prefence of flexible customization, but I always enjoyed playing Guild Wars because of it's lustrous landscape design and character models. The game looks absolutely amazing and is a fairly enjoyable to play. You can generally find good sales online for the game and additions for under $30.00 which is pretty cheap compared to when they first came out. It also contains good lore and a relatively large community, however from my experience the community isn't very large on roleplaying (you actually get a lot of that from the gameplay/story). ArenaNet is about to release the second version of the game, GW2 which is still undefined by a release date. I wouldn't let that detour you though from playing it if you already haven't. Just my two cents, I hope you find something suitable to your wants!

True, (I so hate the avatars I can't express that hate in words without frothing at the mouth and messing my shirt) but one seldom sees another avatar dressed the same. Also, they are in the process of working on cosmetic weapons so if one has a weapon they like but need to give it up because of another with better stats, then at some point in the future player will be able to keep that look.

OP, I would mention the new Neverwinter Nights game that cryptic is making. I imagine it will have the same robust character creation as their former games. It's supposed to come out some time in 2011.
