    Hell YES!

I hate the way SWTOR is shaping up, but a ME MMO has better chances to succeed in my opinion.

They should have gone with it instead of the Star Wars IP

For the same reason I hope Bethesda will use its Elder Scroll IP rather than licensing another IP for their MMORPG

I'd be tempted to quit RL and plug myself into Mass Effect Online. I get excited just about thinking of the fantastic ME universe in a mmo setting, partly because I know BW can do it justice and make it fun and exciting. Just hope they also complement the epic directed story with some player generated content(think Minecraft and Eve), variety is key, that'd make a really cool living evolving universe.

I would subscribe to Mass Effect Online in a heartbeat, I think it's a great idea, just as long as it's not a clone of SWTOR with a Mass Effect skin, they have to build a different engine for MEO and I don't care if it takes ten years!

considering the rich universes that bioware make, i think that a ME or dragon age MMO would be awesome. both of these have an interesting IP which bioware have fleshed out with decent sequels.

Before TOR, BioWare was taking great pains to make it clear that they were much more interested in developing their own settings than licensing any more pre-existing IPs, so I've been long assuming that TOR is a test bed for how they want to move into the MMO genre. So that if they screw it up, they can save their babies from the idea, and if it works, they have a solid foundation. That's how it works in my wet dreams, anyway.

Personally, I'd rather Mass Effect and Dragon Age just introduce multiplayer to their campaigns using TOR's flashpoint system for multiplayer storytelling/dialogue, rather than going full MMO with all the retarded bunnyhopping hordes of wannabe heroes that entails you to have shoved in your face in every zone, but I'd settle for it if it worked like TOR.

There's no reason why it would have to be Mass Effect or any other existing property, other than to be lazy/reduce costs (by only needing to make the game and not lore/story/setting/etc, they would also probably clone SWTOR too) and to guarentee sales base on franchise popularity.. I really don't like Bioware's thinking since EA assumed control (metaphorically, I know they only own them in a legal sense, but there has been a growing lack of quality)

Personally I would much rather see what Bioware would come up with from scratch.

Jade Empire, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age were all Bioware original IPs. Old Republic is the first game they've done in a bit that's a preestablished IP...

This would never work. Mass Effect is fun because you become the hero. You take part in a epic storyline. If millions of other people in the same persistant world are all "saving the world", it becomes pretty pointless.

Mass Effect as a MMO doesn't make sense. Sure it has a great world to build itself in. But you can say that about any great story. Why don't we just make a MMO for anything people enjoy. Let's see how well that goes. Oh wait.. we already do. It's going great, right?

As long as they do not cancel Mass Effect 3 under the pretense of "mmo is mass effect 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 and so on!~", i can care less about this.

Let's face it, TOR will be the business blunder of the year, as more and more people will leave it once they realized that its just another themepark wow clone with pre-scripted events.

Could TOR survive? Sure, if it did not blow the budget. And they did blow the budget. EA will expect huge consumer base for TOR and after the huge backslash starts against the game(like it happened with God of Dragon Effect Age II: Hawkening), TOR will die.

And at this point, it would need a lot of convincing to assure me and people like me who got burned by DAII and MEII dlcs that Bioware has any capability at all to write a coherent and interesting lore for the world. DAII and MEII:Arrival certainly signal that they can't do that anymore...

C'mon man, this is Bioware.  At best you'll get a rail shooter for your "space experience."

I would be the first in line to purchase a Mass Effect MMO, The universe of this game would be perfect for an mmo, and I think if done right, could be even greater than SWG was before it had those blasted "upgrades".  One of the things I would like to see in a Mass Effect MMO is space combat, I think this is an unexploited gem for this game.

NO THANKS! I want ME RPGs. Alone. Without jerks also wanna be heroes. ME the MMo would mean, death of ME the single player games and NO.

And I am quite fed up with ONE Bioware MMO... I don't think I could stand having to tro... err critizise another crappy Bioware MMO.

In 2008 Bioware has been sold too EA, from then off it goes down, In EA games only to do how do i make in a short amount so much money from a game. And Dragon AGE II i played the demo it was disappointment. The Effort Bioware put in is games with passion is gone. The only game company who works still with passion in in his games is Blizzard. So if they make every game MMO, then EA only sees $$ this. I wouldn't play it. Let it be single game Mass Effect II was good but after 2 times playing, you have played it out. I hope Mass Effect III stays a single game.

Until blizzard shows it's hand with project Titan all bets are off.

    There is NO miracle patch.

95% of what you see in beta won't change by launch.

    Hope is not a stategy.

A Mass Effect MMO would be ideal as there would be no interference from another party/IP owner (like LA) and no doubt it would be a successfull addition to the MMO genre.

Go on BioWare, make it happen, I know you want to. I'll even beta test it for you and give you my wife.

IF you build it they will come...

Famous words that stand out here, IF BioWare make it, the fans will come and most likely stick around.

A future MMO for ME must be done at some point, I would fly to Pluto to get a copy!

I dont see Bioware launching 2 sci-fi MMO's to compete with one another. That would be stupid

Generally, that would be the case.

But Star Wars stands on its own in the Sci-Fi Genre. You have people who like Sci-fi, and those who love Star Wars.

You could have people in the ME MMO who are general sci-fi fans, MMO players looking for something new, and Mass Effect fans. TOR, provided that it maintains a crowd, could hold Star Wars fans and those who enjoy the game. You would also have to remember that we're talking years between the two games, if there is even an ME MMO in the works. By the time this MMO would be realized, TOR will be matured with a Stable population (That is, again, if it managed to have any sort of success).

Not to mention, there's tons of Fantasy MMORPGs out there, many of them are made by the same, owned, or distributed by the same company. How many Fantasy games does SOE own? Turbine? Nexon? NCsoft?

It's not that farfetched that they would go and make another Sci-fi MMO after making a Sci-fi MMO. Especially once their main trilogy is complete and the Commander Shepard storyline is resolved.

(Which I believe if it does happen, it will take place after commander Shepard's story.)

    Groovy.
