Beer, what is it good for...absolutely nothing???

Tim_BraidTim_Braid Member UncommonPosts: 36

Hey gang, this was a letter written by my friend from Berlin. He was taken away form this place a long time ago and it made him very sad, he began to drink to make himself happy. Now he is in rehab and he wrote this in his room at the facility. He wanted me to post this hear because he told me he still loves you and he still values your opinion to the highest degree. Now, without further ado, here is the plea and cry from a lost man from Berlin....

Guys and gals, is beer good for you? I mean is it really good for your soul? Pennywise aka Poppin Penny tells me it is. He tells me to "drink up Ichben, keep drinking the beer boy!! If you drink enough of the good stuff, it'll give your cock wings!!!"

I drink beer and I drink the wine because it make me happy, the beer and wine make me glad, but I know in my heart of hearts it is killing me at the same time because I know the beer has bad stuff inside of it that makes people crazy, it makes people bad.

It makes people act like the clown with the balloons and that ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, is very very bad. So I ask you again with all my heart, What is beer and what is it good for? Why does beer make us so happy, yet so sad when the party is over and the beer is done? Why does beer make the bad thoughts go away only to return when we are sober and the fame and glory is gone? What are we searching for when we binge drink? What are we trying to prove when we drink so much beer we pass out, waking up with a hangover, waking up feeling dead?

One time I was playing beer pong with my comrades from Oceania and the clown was standing in the corner of the room watching me play the game and watching me play very bad. He would smile when I would have to drink another cup of beer and he would giggle when I began to lose touch with reality. I started seeing balloons all around me, floating everywhere in the darkness and haze of my drunken stupor.

I began to float alongside the balloons, drifting in and out of reality, drifting to a place where there is no darkness. A place where the clown can have his way with me and he DID have his way with me because he raped me in the room of no tomorrow. He molested me in the place of horror and time. I know this because when I woke up my body felt sore, my head was pounding and my ass felt like a bunch of furry little critters from an imaginary place and imaginary mind tore my ass a new one with their teeth and dirty hands.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls? Is this the price we have to pay for happiness? Is this the only way we can be comfortable in our own skin when we pretend we are in another type of skin that is better than the one we are wearing now?

I remember a long time ago in a galaxy far far away I went to a birthday party and the kids were playing their game. A clown was at the party, playing with the kids, giving them candy helping them play their games with glee and joy. He would let them touch is lightsaber, and let the touch his blade. He is corrupting them I thought to myself. He is doing the same thing they did to me all those years ago. Giving us candy to make us happy? Giving us sweets to make us high, making us want more of the candy, more of the sweet stuff, more of the eventual beer we will soon come to love in time do to their actions. The actions of the parents, the actions those who don't see the clown on the swings in playground, the clown in the corner of the room.

So again, I ask you this question. Beer, what is it good for? Absolutely nothing? Or is there a fine line between darkness and light?

He's referring to a persona whose name started with Ichben.

These are the two information that beer is really good to our body.

Reducing chance of heart disease – another of the benefits of beer is that alcohol drinkers had higher levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, often called the “good” cholesterol, which is a protective form of blood fat. The alcohol drinkers also had lower levels of fibrinogen, a protein that promotes blood clots, as well as elevated levels of other molecules (platelets) that prevent the clotting and stickiness of blood cells.

Reduction in Kidney stones – A Finnish-U.S. study of beer-drinking, middle-aged men was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology in 1999. The report stated that an increase in beer consumption may reduce the risk of developing kidney stones. Results showed that there was a 40 percent lower risk of kidney stones in beer drinkers, but the researchers were stumped as to whether the benefits of beer results were due to water, alcohol or hops.

I do not beleive that beer does do harm, surely if not in moderation it will kill you but if you drink responsibly it will be okay. OT for me the good of beer is what it brings to your friends, its a beverage that are loved by all grown men.

I was given candy like it was the cure to everything when I was young.

If my parents felt guilt I would have some yummy snacks!

What did it teach me? A painful lesson .  ....

You should never say that anything else can make you feel good.

It is good to have nothing, to be nothing, and to do nothing. You are setting yourself to feel bad if you tell yourself anything else. Health makes a big difference though.

I am in a lot of pain right now. I am curious as to how others would cope with it as I am pretty used to it. My condition gets much worse if I am exposed to certain things or eat/take certain things (alcohol being one of them after some testing). I was at my most painful era around age 10 I think so at least its not that bad anymore but it still is more painful than something terrible imagined like getting a toe sawed off because at least you could sleep afterward. What I am feeling right now is like getting stabbed . ... again and again and again and again AND IT WONT STOPPP! I have recently found out something that may explain why this happens to me sometimes. A rare blood disease runs in my family and it is extremely painful and comes at random. It is very difficult to be diagnosed with it and my family pretty much told me that doctors would only give me things that make it worse and told me that I had to go to a specialist only. I probably will not be diagnosed with it until I am much older because everyone else was at twice my age but I am hopeful that there is something that I can do to make it go away forever and hopefully will not ever end up in a much pain as when I was young.

I am a nurse and I tell you that beer is not but JUST DRINK IN MODERATION Or Once a day

    Beer Effects:

    1. It raises high-density lipoprotein or HDL, known as good cholesterol

    2. Favorable effect on the lining of blood vessels, making them less likely to form a clot or for a clot to rupture and plug an artery, and may help protect against Type 2 Diabetes

    3. Brain boost

I don't know the health effects of drinking beer, but I do know if you drink it in moderation it does wonders to your personality - at least for me. I'm a pretty shy, socially awkward guy. I just like to keep to myself when I'm in groups of people, and really don't like being the focus of attention.. so I don't talk. Though when I have a beer or two in me I open up and have a good time.

So, with moderation, it can't be a bad thing.

    Currently Playing:

    Nothing.

I know one good benefit of beer!!!

Beer acts as a diuretic, increasing urination. This in turn facilitates increased removal of toxic and waste materials out of the body.

Increased urine flow only helps if both kidneys and liver are in top form. High amount of alcohol consumption screws up both.
