Does there still seem to be a steady increase of players, or is the player base decreasing? I don't need to know how good the game is, I already enjoyed the game a lot durring a couple of the beta events, but I don't want to play an MMO that feels rather empty.

estrael's got plenty as do the other RP servers, i havent played on any of the non rp servers so i can't speak for them
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

Wolfsbane has about a 20 minute queue time at peak hours. Better then opening day at least. :-P
Gary Gannon, host of the Rift-themed Gamebreaker.tv show "Sanctum", estimated the player base somewhere around 750,000 players at launch.
The servers are almost always all at either 'Medium' or 'High' population, if not 'Full', as seen on the Rift shard status page.
That said, it's way too early to see any trending of players because the game's only been out a month. We know a good estimate of what the player base is, but we haven't seen any evidence as far as people leaving or joining.

The server I'm playing on seems stable, but people are spreading out some. It's an 'evening' server, meaning everyone seems to login during the evening hours. I never gets to the point that there's a queue, but it also never seems to drop below 'Medium' capacity (whatever that means).
I'm liking it.
I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.
i rolled a mage today and got him to 16(takes few hours to get to teens in rift) and did a dungeon run.
everyone in the group but me bought the game in last few days and the newbie area is filled with people.
I play on Estrael and it is usually medium, going to high for primetime. I am noticing that players have spread out. The "Get to max level mentality" has left my bracket of pvp from instant queues to 5 to 30+ minute queues. This is really killing my enjoyment. I know it seems rather petty, but I enjoy exploring, crafting, and pvping. All of which is a much slower way of leveling than just quest grinding. This has also made finding dungeon groups much harder unless I devote to playing during primetime which life has a funny way of making that difficult. Just my 2 cents.
Cheers!
MMO Vet since AOL Neverwinter Nights circa 1992. My MMO beat up your MMO. =S
im on one of the less popular servers (kaleida) and there are alot of people. i'm mostly around meridian area but i'm guessing several hundred people in the general vacinity (or more) at all times. it seems very active but free month is almost up. we'll see in another week who remains.
My server is packed. In the capital cities there are hundreds of people

I also come from Estrael and it has a very healthy pop. I usually play from 10PM to 3 or 4 AM CST and it is always at Medium pop at that late an hour. Plus the community is awesome. Lvl 20 and below (my highest character is 23) areas (Defiant) is very well populated. Always running into someone in Stonefield no matter where you quest.

RP servers here as well, all of them are very well off on population. Some spreading out, but thats a good thing if you ask me, really hate having to worry about camping a spot just to get what I need. Still plenty around at all ranges.
My server still has a queue in the evening sometimes. Its a bit early but at this point theres still a healthy population across all level ranges.

I'd say it's still growing.. I'am always surrounded by another player (or a few) and when Invasions start people pop out of the wood works and its not uncommon to see multiple 15-20 person raids runnin around.. This weekend there was actually a que to get into Braircliff all saturday night, wasn't even like this last weekend either.. So i'd say its still growing.

TRION has 59 NA servers.
Assuming each server has a population of 5,000 players, the total NA player base = ~300,000 players.
Wolfsbane seems rock solid with mainly US/OC/NZ + international players.Server status is always medium/high/full 24/7 with 30-40 mins queue on peak time.
The end of the free month is close,I guess in a few days will see how things fare.
In the land of Predators, the lion does not fear the jackals...
yeah seems most of servers are Medium or high. but many people are still playing their first free month
If queues are any indication, the game is growing population wise. Seems every night the queues get longer for me. Although, RP servers seem to be the "go-to" servers lately... maybe the more mature populations want to congregate and escape reality as much as possible, lol.
This is all very good to know. The first month is almost over, too, and from what I heard, they're rleasing a content patch on the 30th or something, which is great. If Trion continues to support their game like this, I can see it being quite successful for a while. And considering this is their only game, there's no reason why they should have any problems.
Can not present "hard facts" but I played WoW on a "medium" server a while back. Felt a lot less populated than Rifts "medium" servers.

We dont need casuals in our games!!! Errm... Well we DO need casuals to fund and populate our games - But the games should be all about "hardcore" because: We dont need casuals in our games!!!

I have made a few different characters on Harrow and as soon as I enter the game world I spend a few minutes tweaking my UI. While I am just standing there getting my UI setup, I am surprised at how many new characters are being made and zoning into the world.
