ToE needed to play?

do i have to buy ToE to play or i can just create a acc add subs and play till 55 then buy Assault?

i thought assault was a free expansion.....
Aion expansions are always free. All version that are in the shops now should be the "Assault on Balaurea". This is not only the expansion but also the full game (incl. some gifts like pet etc). So if u buy ToE u have to download AoB (no that wont cost any money) and that will take a lot of time.
Edit: I've seen that ToE is cheaper on Amazon so if u have a good internet then u can buy ToE and just download the expansion. But this way u wont get the gifts.
