Customer Support Update

I'm posting this primarily for anyone thinking about spending money on this game.  I never did, and loved this game very much.  However, there are bugs.  I experienced the most significant bug in my second go through of the advanced trade school with an alt.  This game was awesome, and I still respect the game.  I uninstalled because of the bug's severity, the lack of in game help, and finally, after close to two weeks, the complete and utter failure of email support from net marble.  I received one response asking me to take a screeshot of the quest.  I did, but there was an error 3 days later with the email stating they did not accept the email and the process had been delayed.  So i sent a seperate email with no attachments to them, (even though they told me to send an attached screenshot) reitierating the problem, and how I had tried to contact them numerous times.  All I have since received are error messages and email delayed messages.  So, great game, but as is often the case it seems, horrible customer support.  Play at your own risk, it's good enough to try for free.  However, I wouldn't recommend making a purchase of any kind.

okay now its just QQ your the only one I know who complained about that single bug QQ I did the school and finished it so now its all just QQ and QQ and QQ

Lol, you make little sense.  If you had read any post previously, you'd have seen that my alt experienced the bug.  My previous character finished it just fine.  I have no reason to lie about a game i truly enjoyed.  Please understand that some people here are nice, and not at all looking for arguements.  Thanks.  (have no idea what QQ means?  Weirdo.)

QQ = crying, whining.  (It's supposed to approximate tear-drops coming from two eyes).

Like I said before, criticizing sandbox games brings out the rabid fanbois.

Never criticize a "sandbox" game on mmorpg.com. You will be drowned in a wave of kool-aid drinking fanbois.

Ah, I see now . . . I have no idea why he thought i was crying?  Some people just don't take any time to read.  You are very right Red Monk.  I also want to thank you on the related post for giving suggestions about the game you're currently playing, and how to find a good guild/kinship.  :)

No problem.  "Meta" discussions about games are interesting, when they're not overrun by QQ'ing responses.

If you are looking for a more sandboxy type game, Xsyon has just launched, which is supposed to be based around "tribes" working together.  I've heard some complaints about global chat though, and sometimes a bad element can invade sandbox games with PvP.  It might be a good game if you find the right tribe though.

Yes, I'm definitely buying Xyson soon.  I wanted to wait a few weeks first, partly so everything could be running a bit better, but mostly because I've overspent my budget on these games in the last few months and need to calm down until March. (hehe)  Xyson is a for sure buy (seems like good communication from the devs to players) and I'm looking at Guild Wars now on Steam.  Thanks again.

Oh, on the uncharted waters online updates.  Support did contact me again giving me new instructions on how to reply in further emails.  It's not the typical way of replying in emails, and there was no way for me to know that.  I used their ask us a question function on their website as well, and am waiting for further help.  So going past 2 weeks time, hopefully it gets figured out.  As constantly stated, awesome game, would love to return.  Not sure why it only takes a couple of minutes to make purchases on these games, but takes weeks and weeks to get responses back for real customer support issues.

This is a problem of F2P MMOs in general I think. While the Pay-systems are automated, the Support is mostly bad, because it requires manpower.

Not saying this game is bad. I mean yesterday I saw the world map for the first time here (click on Global Map on the right side) - and so far I do my business in the Mediterrean only. From the map it seems this game is 5 times bigger than "Pirates of the Burning Sea", less linear, more Exploration and Trading.

I remember throwing 200€ after Atlantica Online, spent 50€ in LotRo (including Server Transfer) when it is F2P, 20€ in Runes of Magic. In this game so far not a single cent.

Well, I finally got the through it.  I never did hear back from customer support.  Another player had experienced the same and told me to simply reinstall.  I did, and the bug was still there, but I was able to click on each general exercise to find the final exam whereas before everything was greyed out.  So I played a lot last night making back all the ducats the bug had cost me.  I also purchased Vanguard which is a bit buggy at times, although they are minor.  I've played about a dozen or so mmorpgs in last few months being somewhat new to the genre.  I love UWO but won't (don't need to) spend a dime if they can't offer any type of customer support.  I can say there is a good reason why WOW is number one, besides being so streamlined and smooth.  They have good customer service comparable to other games, and are reliable in at least responding to emails.  I think issues like customer service are often overlooked in reviews of games.  I'm just happy the reinstall only took an hour, and not 18 like final fantasy XI.

Avoid free to play MMOs.  Infact the only good free to play game where you are worth a damn is league of legends.  And even then you have to deal with the horrible community composed of many middle and high school kids who have no money.

I dont get it? just because you have money you are nice? and being pennyless makes you a jerk?

  • GrayGreeneGrayGreene Member Posts: 239

No problem, thecrap.  I appreciate the response.  I'm very glad the issue is fixed as well.  Now i can click on my adv general exercises and choose as well.  Before, they were all greyed out like the trade ones.

It's all good.  I was somewhat insulted on the Final Fantasy XI thread i made too.  I don't try to argue, most games I've tried have been fun.  But i'm a stickler when it comes to customer service.  Good luck to you, thanks again.

     Non Sense.

The two best mmorpg's to come out these last 3 years are Free To Play :

    - Atlantica Online

    - UWO

*Great communities*, Solid Large Content, Well Balanced, Non Disruptive Cash Shops.

In both games , you have a majority of mature players' Guilds.

Wish the same could be said about most PTP mmo's, but no, recent Pay to play mmo's are kiddy wow clones.

Hmm, I was installing Atlantica Online after a bit of research, then during the process found tons of bad comments concerning their cash shop.  I agree about UWO, but still havne't tried Atlantica Online.  Are the negative reviews and comments just frustrated players?  Or is their cash shop really that bad?

When I played Atlantica ~2 years ago, the cash shop was a bit like a casino. There were several items offered in the shop you couldn´t buy directly - instead you had to buy boxes... gambling boxes 10$ each. There was a chance of about 1/15 to get the desired item (i.e. rare mount), but of course you normally won something more common.

The game itself I really liked, it was something different - but the cash shop... I guess some gamblers let tons of money in this game.

the UWO cash shop is not so bad they are a bunch of common stull only one item is supper strong but also supper overpriced

its only a storage item wich gives you more space but you can use it to transfer goods from 2 set places instantly which is still ok but stands out amongst the regular items the others are perfectly reasonable and normal
