Which is a pity because most modern female warriors (i.e athletes) dont look like playboy bunnies. I for one can never play a female model in MMORPGs because they seem to take just that, playboy bunnies, like the blueprint for how female warriors should look like and in the case of asian games, teenage playboy bunnies. It is just stupid.

The second one, the UFC fighter, is how female warriors should look like. She looks like she could wield a 2 metre 2h Sword, the other one does not.

But then again, guys would not like it because they would not be hot.

For me I want immersion and realistic looking models. I dont give a shit if they look hot or not, I got 50 GB of other media if I want to look at hot women on my computer screen.

Eastern games should not be looked at through western eyes and sensibilities. One may not like them (no harm there) but there is a different sense of design going on that really does align with a different way of thinking.

As far as Tera's over the top sexuality I would say that Conan is equally over the top but just uses a dfferent art design and sensibilities. Both kind of tie into an adolescent indulgence. That's not a criticism but an observation. I personally have no problem with "adolescent indulgence" if kept in balance.

I know several females who are cops, firemans and one is a amature weightlifter and I can guarrantee you that they look similar to that picture I posted (except they got more fat under their skin so you cant see their muslces as clearly).

Looks like a man? You can clearly see by her body build that it is a women (her hips, legs, breast etc) and her arms are very remiscient of a proffesional athlete that require upper body strength, such as a pole vaulter.

Remember we are talking about WARRIORS here, not stairmaster chicks that you see at the gym. The closest you would get in modern life would be a proffesional athlete which needs strong upper body. So please, no crap about females who actually work on their strength "look like me". That is offensive and sexist to say.

I don't know if you know about Gold's gym, especially some years ago, but it's was a place where many hardcore body builders/excercise enthusiasts would work out.

The second picture you posted is more in line with women who push their bodies than that first picture. However, of all the female police and female fire fire fighters that I've seen, none of them were "beeffy". They were in good shape or very muscular but not "beefy".

And the women at Gold's who really pushed their bodies (because both men and women who end up looking hyper muscular have to push their bodies there one way or another) were never really beefy. They had incredible definition and were clearly female body builders but they weren't conan the barbarian wearing a female head.

So again, your second picture above is completely in line with what a woman can achieve if she works on her body. I think you take offense because you are assuming that I think women are just capable of this:

So back on track with the thread, Asian games are not about Immersion but about a very hyper stylized fantastical setting. If you watch some jpop or kpop (or rock, whatever) videos it's very clear that there is this fashion style is more iconic than realistic.

With regard to the depiction of female characters, I have absolutely no problem with female characters appearing sexy. In fact I prefer them to be sexy. But there are many more ways to appear sexy than to depict them as barbie dolls in short skirts and high heels. I am going to make a sweeping racial generalization now, which I apologize for in advance, but I think the asian youth (which is the principle market for these games) is a very unsophisticated sexually. As a result, we ge the unimaginative, puerile asian youth fantasies of "sexy" rather than the real deal. Its a pity really...

Ok sorry then, as I missunderstood you. Yes beefy is very hard for women to achieve, unless they use roids, but that is not what we are comparing. And as I sad before, I do agree that it is more about iconic cultural preferance rather than realism, which is a shame, as females can look quite bad ass and not just sexy or cute.
