population and state of game question?

I used to play EU a couple years back and i enjoyed it but wanted to take a break from the game. I recently noticed the game again and that it had a massive graphic update or whatever in past year. I was just curious of the state of the game and a rough estimate of population.

Can someone that plays the game now tell me a little bit of what has changed in the past 2 years and if it is worth coming back to. The community was great a couple years back and i want to know if its about the same and what significant changes have occured since both positive and negative.

Just to name a few changes:

    • CryEngine2

    • Vehicles (boats, cars, planes)

    • Missions

    • 2 new planets

The amount of players is still hard to tell. MindArk says about 1.000.000 accounts, but like 2 years ago that is hugely exagutared. The amount of ACTIVE players should be higher then 2 years ago, but remember they are spread out over 3 planets now. I think the overal population of Calypso has gone up a lot I think, but most are still new players and we don't know if they are gonna stick). Not sure about the new planets and their population.

    Hope that helps a bit

Most of the old players have all left from the bull that Mindark pulls.

Only newbs now, that the marketing squad"Alpha geek" pulls in for deposits.

Actually...  I've been playing since 2005 and many, many people from back then are still around and very active.

Sure, some people stay and some people go, just like with any game or any other activity in the world.

Entropia Universe certainly isn't for everyone. People that want to be instant ubers and people who don't like to use their minds won't like EU, but those who want a long term challenging game seem to stick around.

Entropia seems to be doing well. My Society is very active and we run beacon missions and hunt together often. Lately, I have been working on the Iron Challenge missions as they are due to be updated on October 9, 2012.

Adding vehicles has greatly enhanced the game, a lot. I own a car, helicopter and a VTOL spaceship that can go into space and to other planets (which are huge and offer a tremendous amount of content). Mindark recently added a "New Player Experience" to Calypso. You get a free off-road car, rocket launcher, healing tool and vital skill points.

The population appears strong and the game is actively developed.
