This sound card is on sale for 154.99 with free shipping atm.  I know very little about sound cards. I have always used onboard sound, but I am planning on setting up a nice surround sound system in my basement when I get a new PC, and was wondering if a card like this would be a big improvement over the onboard audio.  I read all the reviews and it seems like a good option.  What do you guys think?

I really don't like Sound Blasters, their drivers are usually shotty.  Also most onboard is now more then suffcient unless you are an audiophile in which case you would be looking at a $600 solution.  Its not going to be a significant step up over the common modern realtek audio chips.
