Beta 5 Problems?
I am from the UK , i have downloaded the client everything has downloaded and updated, but when I press play and it gets to character select , i get the Msg : Failed to connect?
This cause I from Europe? i didnt think it mattered i have changed my country to NA also in my account settings just to try this too.
Or is it just the fact that its just a few mins in to Beta event, even though the server status page shows everything up and running.

Looks like we overloaded the servers 5 mins after launch. I managed to create a character, enter the game but didn't manage to get out of the gates before the servers gone down.

final beta that fails to connect...what are they expecting at launch...
I think I actually spent way more time reading and theorycrafting about MMOs than playing them
My friend is on right now. I was. Went to switch chars, and now can't connect.

Yup. I'm getting "failed to connect to server" message. Looks like we're just going to have to be patient for a bit.

I can't even get to the character select screen. Just a loading screen that loads to like 89% and says failed to connect press Ok to try again or cancel to exit. I'm gonna give it a few minutes and try again.
Europe player here too....servers are just down.....they prolly be adding a fiew right now
It's not the final beta and it's more people than they had in last beta. Now is the time to solve these issues. As they have been making changes from one beta to another it is safe to assume that that they are actually treating these events as betas and making improvements as they go.
Finding out they need to make changes for a large amount of people is a good thing.

I managed to log in, get over to the newly opened area, engage a mob and then got disconnected, so I'll be logging in dead then
I can't re connect at all now, get stuck at 49%, the new servers were filling up fast, I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to add a few more. The Rift Forums are up and down right now too, I keep getting a 'scheduled maintenance' message, think they forgot to tell their maintenance crew when the beta started
Two more beta events after this. Maybe you don't understand how many people are trying to log in at once ATM. How do you prepare for over a million people flooding your game all at once...Playing: Rift, LotRO

Probably why they opened up the EU servers for Beta 5 instead of holding of until launch...
Game works fine in the US, but something's happened to the new server cluster in the EU.
They almost doubled the number of servers for Beta 5, but success has a drawback and this is the drawback. Too many people connecting at the same time.
umm... i thought there were 7 planned betas? this is 5, that means this shouldn't be the final beta...

We get what we are paying for. This is one of the reasons why they throw huge amount of keys around. Hope they get it fixed soonish...
Is it just EU players having issues? Because I'm on US and I still get the failed to connect at 89%/49%.

I am having the same issue and I am also US. Servers are probably just slammed right now.
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
Aye. Stress test is good.
They just sent out a server message in-game saying they are working on the connection issues.
