Continuous growth.  It's a testament to the quality of the content.  Talented developers that fully envisioned their creations and weren't stopped by limitations encroached by the usual management.

    True. Each went after a segment of the market and did what they do well.

    I think it's time to realize that even WoW is a "niche" game. They are all niches of a wider market.

    I played all of them? No? Massive grind? yeah :P

    They are fun games that know what they want to be. Bulding up slowly to satisfy their own market.

    I've been uplinked and downloaded, I've been inputted and outsourced. I know the upside of downsizing, I know the downside of upgrading.
