I thought Hunters were gimped, until

I saw my 17 yr old son play one.  He has an 85 hunter and specd Beast Mastery.  He took on at least 12 or more level 85 mobs.  One after the other and even 3 spawned and he owned them all with his pet and his abilities. 

I couldnt believe my eyes.  My Hunter is dual specd, MM and Survival.  He sux.  LOL

I am going te respec now and get a spirit pet.

    The complaints from hunters are for PVP, no PVE. Right now survival hunters are the top pve dps in raids.

    When talking about hunters being gimped we are referring to PvP. In PvE and questing / grinding hunters are exceptional. A beast master hunter's tenacity pet like a bear talented correctly can easily tank numerous mobs at once. 

    In PvP things are still not well. Aspect of the Fox fixed the mobility - focus regen issue to some extend but our damage output is still to low and at a high focus cost in order to put serious pressure on most classes.
