Yep. What was really bad about it was that everyone was so put off by the monthly sub when in reality was really easy to make APB cash and sell it for RTW points. You could easily make enough in the 50hours that came with the game to pay for another month and then 3 more.

They should have made it B2P with a bonus for subscribing like Hellgate london tried to do.

Wow! I'm sad to see the game go. I was going to pay the $50 and use this game to give me breaks from LOTRO. The music creator was worth the initial fee IMO since you could "sell" the music to get more play time.

The PvP was kind of lame, however I did have just enough fun in the 1 week I played to keep my interest. If there was a monthly fee like $9.99/month, I would not pay so I think they had the correct pay method. Too bad they couldn't come up with enough cash flow to continue.

With the world they created, they should have used that world to generate more $$$ through advertising. Maybe make one of the stores a restaurant, then make it so that the only way of restoring health is to eat a burger or chicken nuggets purchasable with in game currency. I'm sure a fast food chain would pay a game creator to have their name on the building and their food the only means of the players healing themselves.

Or create a Casino and give it the name of whatever Casino (Harrah's) willing to pay for the advertising. Players can gamble away their in game currency in hopes of scoring enough points to pay for 3-6 months of playtime. This method could enable the IP to stay afloat and make the in-game world more realistic with stores and shops we see in real life.

Maybe this concept was tried in the past and failed, I don't know... just thinking out loud as I mourn what could have been.

now, ive never actually played this game, but i was planning on it. just glad that if nothing else i saved a few bucks.

and hopefully other games have character creators as good as this one seemed to be, and judging by what everyones saying, was.

    Playing
    Nothing
    waiting for
    The secret world
    Played
WoW, DCU online, star wars: the old republic, city of heroes, city of villains, everquest, plenty more I'm probably forgetting or aren't worth noting.

I don't mean to sound mean, but I kind of find this funny. In a youtube video I said that this game won't last long and got flamed for it, well who's laughing now? (literally)

I read mixed reports about it possibly going F2P.

Then of course I find out it's been shut down...couldnt even get a real refund, had to get a prepaid card!...after i told them the game was toast, that game was probably on the shelf for another 2 weeks, totally clueless.
