Big November Update

SnarlingWolfSnarlingWolf Member Posts: 2,697

So far they have released some details on the big November update.

  • They are considering adding playable Olthoi who would always be PvP, didn't level, and had to start in their own specific area. The main goal being to let people who have always been afraid to try PvP to be able to get in on the action with a character they didn't have to worry to much about.  http://forums.ac.turbine.com/showthread.php?t=47122

  •

  • They are still working on adding more races in game. We got told the remaining races they were planning on were Undead, Empyrean, Lugian, and Tumerok. They added in the Undead in this months patch which adds to the Shadows and Gearknights they have already added as new playable races.

  •

  • They are working on updating the XP on all of the creatures to match those who have always been too high. So instead of bringing the high xps down they are bringing the low xps up. This should make exploring the world and hunting in different areas rewarding again.

  •

  • In the past year they have updated the XP rewards on over 100 quests to be very worthwhile. Now they have said they are upgrading some old low level quests into high level versions so the will be fun for players to run again.

  •

  • They hinted at a new school of magic called Void Magic but have not given any details yet.

There may still be even more things coming in November as they have leaked information every so often. Or they may be keeping something completely quiet.

Here is what has happened over the past year:

  • Updated the XP on over 100 quests

  • Updated all of the rares and adjusted the rare drops so that people are actually finding them again

  • Added playable Shadows and Gearknights

  • Updated the landscape textures, they look really nice

  • Added the ability to switch a characters racial skill for a different skill

  • Added monthly quest NPCs. These NPCs choose a different quest each month and give players very high xp for completing them. It gets people out there doing quests they've likely never done or at least not for a long time.

  • Added in game barbers so players could change how they looked

  • Added a tailoring system so players can put the look of the armor they like on the armor that has the stats/spells they need

  • Added Aetheria which are 3 new equippable items that cause different spells to go off during combat

  • Added trinkets which are an equippable item that have spells you can't get from anything else

  • Added new skills. Two Handed and gear crafting.

  • Made some new uses for some of the least used skills to make them more interesting

  • Added a new way to get an aug. Augmentations are permanent improvements to your character but before that you could only get 2 a month max.

  • They standardized all quest timers to make them fall into either weekly, biweekly, triweekly, monthly, daily.

  • Added a quest journal to track quest timers

  • Added a facility hub which gives a guided method of getting to approximately level 45 decently quick.

  • Added a town network which now connects all the towns together instead of requiring people to learn portal routes

  • Gave people a couple extra character slots

I may have missed a couple of things but that is most of it with of course new quests added every single month as well. The game has been pushing along at high speed for the past year and it doesn't seem like it is stopping anytime soon. So jump in and check it out so that you have a character ready for all the fun in November.
