Half of them were Russians talking in a world chat, and two players i saw “in person”, so there were no chance at all to try PvP, unless i would try my luck and start over on another server.

How do you think i can see this game being about player enteraction, if i saw no players to interact with? Seeing noone alive at the official server? well, maybe i should have done a research to find if there is a populated server, or used a free shard instead of official... but how on earth was i supposed to know that before playing?

i mean, come on, login to Eve Online and fly randomly in any direction, in a maximum half an hour your ass would be handed to you in a pure player-vs-player interaction. or take a LOTRO, there are hundreds of players on any server in any time of the day.

about the quest: my whole point is that this game is pure grinding and there are no quest. you say: yes, there are no quests! you prove me right, what do you want me to say?

"oh my i was wrong, this game is SUPPOSED to be pure grinding set on pause while you PvP here and there, so that's totally okay to be another grindfest, that's why people want!" -- if you like grinding, be glad there are no quests, it's good for you :) i like quests and rant because of their absense, that's bad for me - so you just keep proving me right in my point of view

Granted you didn't do a bit of research about what's happened with the game but taking a quick glance on the official forums would have given you somewhat sense of where to go.

Lol, how can you even consider to review MMOs seriously when you dont even know the basic history of MMO design. In PreWoW MMOs grinding/hunting was the PRIMARY WAY OF LEVELING. Everquest, DaoC, Lineage - in each one of them you grinded to lvl up. There were quests, yes. But they were few , and their primary role was to get some better gear or money, or to lead you to the next grinding zone. The fact that you can level by questing was the revolutionary idea that WoW brought in.

    correction- DAOC brought in.

It was a MUD trend about 2 years earlier also. Just to point out the linked history of graphic mmorpgs to text based user-dungeons.

Well most people here disagree with you and L2 is not the most popular game in this forum so you so that is saying something.

excuse me, is preWOW MMOS are only Everquest and DaoC? What about Ultima Online, huh? And you forgot to mention MUDs! Oh yes, MUDs, they are the predecessors of all thing. Then came Meridian 59, the first MUD with graphics. See, i know the basics.

But game design had been changed many times since then, like what you mentioned with WoW. The next revolution was F2P games, then social games, then whatever comes next. These guys who make MMO about zombies are gonna try to revolutionize it again.

What you obviously don't know, is that it's 2010 today, not a 1995 or 1998 anymore - we don't have to play games that had been concieved nearly a decade ago, we have more choice now. I want quests. This game is outdated and sucks. That's my point, you can have yours, we all can have our own points of view and they don't have to be the same, that's the whole point if you see what i mean.

Well, i wouldn't consider Tasks  as quests tbh. Although it definately was an improvement...

Isn't this how all the romantic comedy movies start off?  With a big quarrel?

Looks like you two might be hooking up by the end of this thread :p.

Not to be sexist, but does all girl gamer reviews come with hours of energetic textualated defense?

Because if they ever update those Men Mars Women Venus books, it should be annotated.

As far as I know L2 wasn't the first MMO with female cleavage, and there have been others after L2.

What about AoC? Or MO with full frontal nudity? That doesn't offend you? Seems to me like you just had an axe to grind with L2 and went the wrong way about doing that.

Your views on the game are completely wrong, maybe because they're based on a bad experience, but wrong all the same. You've already been pointed out with screenshots that some of the things you said about L2 were a bit exaggerated. The zoom issue (or non-issue) was easily solved with a tweaking of the l2.ini file (known as the infinite zoom hack)... all the zoom you could wish for right there.

As a male L2 player that happened to Raid and PvP with a lot of female L2 players (had something like 10 in my clan) I can assure you that the majority of women that played L2 don't share your views. If people were just sitting on their chairs looking at the T&A on their dark elf toon they would be pked a lot.

On a personal note my favourite (hotter) female outfit, still is the human female warrior in the formal wear. simply gorgeous.

There are a lot of other MMOs out there with raunchier characters, with a lot more detail and with a lot more cleavage showing and nudity.

If you don't like L2 for the game itself it's a fair opinion and your entitled to it, but don't try to tell us that you just found out that a 7 year old game made in Korea is sexist... that's simply not news.

    Playing:

    RIFT, EU Blightweald Server

    Waiting to see:

    ToR, TERA, GW2

Uhm, i know that MUDs are predecesors of MMOs but they still aren't the same thing. Core is the same, but it's a completely different experience.

I know that it's 2010 today, and not a 2005 anymore. And i dont want quests. That mechanic is outdated and i want something new and different, which could uste the fact that i play a game with thousands of other people and not alone.

And funny thing is that you put your hopes on ''those guys who make MMO about zombies'', considering the fact that you bashed the game it's two key people created.

I respect your opinion, but i fail to see how it is related to your gender,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, i mean; sure females in L2 indeed have ''overly emphasized'' features, but so does alot of other mmorpgs, ESPECIALLY asian ones.

As a man, i dont care much for the exeggerated sexiness of the pixels on the screen, moreso considering the fact that most of those pixels are steered behind the screen by a guy named ''Joe'' or Shmoe, or whatever,

but to me it feels like you feel ''special'' for being a,,,hmm,,, ''girl gamer''

well whatever floats your boat, lady.

Well, it's your right to mark my vies as wrong, but excuse me! Do you always run a search for every game you play - "how to hack a game so it would work like its developers should have made it working"?  i commented on a pure Lineage2 install. For a pure install my comments are legitimate, changing a game in any way is a different thing.

All I have to say is that 99% of those choices suck =(

But about your point of view, over sensationalizing of your feminine perspective in a male dominated environment, a game that is a poor choice for what most are looking for in a game, ect. is what I see a lot of people complaining about instead of critiquing what she said. Sure, she might have placed a lot of emphasis on her gender in reference to how good/bad a game is but that does not dismiss her perspective about the game.

MMOs Played: I can no longer list them all in the 500 character limit.

Sex sells. Just look at most of the advertisement banners on this site for example.

I don´t believe most people play Lineage, Aion or Tera solely for... social interaction. There sure is a big portion who likes to see their toons wearing a "Diamond G-String of the Dragonmaster +1".
I have to admit though, that in many games the male models look and run just like shit. As if they also could wwear a Dragonmasters diamond G...

    IMO
