What did he expect the GM to do about the low ore rate anyway.
Hmm... If I was a hard working, caring about the player. GM, I would take a character and do a short run around the area where the bad rspawn rate was to see what it really is like. There could have actually been something wrong with the game that was causing only one node to spawn in 3 hours of play. This guy just blew me off.
So you expected the GM to run around with you for 3 hours to confirm your claim of a 3 hour respawn rate? wow...just wow...
Yes! Because he's a paying customer! Lol seriously dude you paid enough for a 1 year sub and have been playing totally for free for 2 years? I'm shocked they even answered you. Lifers kill me man...

He told you to file a bug report. This is not blowing you off, this is what you need to do to get this problem fixed. Infact this is the only thing the GM could do.

It's not as simple as that.
GM's have rules to abide to, and one of them is passing on issues that they have no authority to investigate. Your issue is something a Developer should look into, and he kindly directed you to the place to report it.
Seems like you're used to private servers. Atleast that's what it looks like.

Nope, he could do a query on the backend database to check the respawn rate for the past 3 hours, or check the server logs, or do simple 1-5 minute spot check of an area. I don't expect him to go around for 3 hours.
A more proper punishment would have been to suspend his ability to submit tickets etc for however many days.
What could make me wrong about this is if he was very rude to the GM and/or submitted more than just a handful of tickets unreasonably.
Di you actually read his first post? They said he was rude to the GM and that he in fact subbmitted multiple tickets after the issue was addressed, so basically he admitted to doing everything you say would make you wrong in the first post he made.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....

The amazing part about all this is the OP is actually serious. When I first saw the title I figured it was a joke or troll topic.

He has the authority to support a paying customer. I have dished out a ton of money and time into this game with litle to almost no complaints. The least he could have done was to check out my problem instead of mashing the auto-can repsonse button to point me to a worthless forum.

OP seems to ignore any sensible posts that might prove his wrong, so Ille make this very simple. As taken from the CoC from LOTRO:
12. While participating in the Game, both in-Game and through the official Website, you will follow the instructions and guidelines of authorized Game support staff at all times.
Followed by:
A player who violates the Code of Conduct may be warned by Turbine staff, but some particularly serious violations or repeated violations can result in other sanctions, such as a lockout or permanent ban, without warning. In addition, Turbine reserves the right to delete characters or entire accounts as we see fit, without warning, for certain violations.
Seriously, cry "ABUSE!" all you want. You agreed to this and they reserve the right to act like they did, as harsh as it may seem.
A more proper punishment would have been to suspend his ability to submit tickets etc for however many days.

If he was indeed rude, then you're right. However, if he was polite and only submitted 3 tickets total, then this was too harsh. Sure, he would still be in the wrong, but a 3 day suspension in this case would be too harsh.
I'm not trying to draw a bright line rule. I'm not saying a 3 day suspension would have been fine if he had only submitted 4 tickets. I'm just giving examples here.
What I'm saying is that just because the other person says he was rude doesn't make it so. Like I said before, absent facts that show he was rude and or submitted more than a handful of tickets, a 3 day suspension was too harsh.
Not that the violation should have gone unpunished. Just that, in the scenario I described above, that the punishment was too much.
And I'll say it again just to prevent someone from misunderstanding, what can make me wrong about this is if he was very rude to the GM and/or submitted more than just a handful of tickets unreasonably.
Just as a side note... I am shocked and amazed and rallied at the fact that every single person on this thread is in agreement. It must be some kind of MMORPG.com record.

I have read several of your posts and I like you man, but I don't agree with you about the common sense thing. I am just tired of some of these mmo's taking in players money with litle to no support. I felt like this guy just blew me off without trying anything on side. Like have said before, I have had very litle complaint about this game in the past and the support was usually top notch. I am just wondering if another GM was working tonight, if the results would have been different.
What did he expect the GM to do about the low ore rate anyway.

Why send more than one ticket ? They won't answer anymore quickly with more than one. They only have so many people dealing with support issues . It won't get any faster if you spam them in fact it would make it slower for other people trying to ticvket them .Also to me the issue does'nt sound paticulary pressing . Its Iron Oare resouses and not a bloody bug in an instance or quest or something . You may have a case but if I were a GM i would have banned you too . 3 days meh . Play EQ2 or DDO or whatever . Sound to me it might do you some good to have a break . Seriously TIME OUT m8 . Bur I hope you don't give up its a nice game great community and although its not perfect just sub to WoW for a month and you will see where a game that caters to respawns and faster leveling and easier game play gets you . You would soon retract this post .

It happens more often than you think and op other than the fact that Turbine told us that you insulted the gm why not address that as more than a few of us have mentioned, it seems you didn't get the ban before you insulted him/them or it would not have been included in that response. Regardless of your issue it's questionable whether you have the right to attack a companies employees and most companies are only going to allow it so much if at all.
As far as the amount of money you shelled out to this game it really depends on when you got your lifetime sub because I know for a fact I've paid more to Turbine as a month to month (always) than any lifetime subscriber has and I still wouldn't feel like you seem to.
but yeah, to call this game Fantastic is like calling Twilight the Godfather of vampire movies....
Why don't topics like these ever make the community spotlight? I mean this is simply classic. For all the wrong reasons but still...

This post looks like a total troll, but im bored so I'll play along.
Firstly, GM's are in game customer support, they rarely if ever have experience with development or design of games and are no more capable of fixing issues than a player is. A GM's job is limited to talking to players and in some cases a limited tool set to help players out of specific situations, such as being stuck.
Submitting multiple tickets for the same issue is infact against the ToU/RoC/EULA for all MMO's I've played. You do not pay enough to have a dedicated GM to gripe to when something does not go your way. The GM acted appropriatly in directing you to the proper place to submit your report. Additionally, banning the account of someone abusing the appeal system and in game support resources is another proper action.
This GM should get a pat on the back for putting up with you. However fear not, in 3 days you can go back to playing and we all know you will. Its not that bad, I've done similiar things to harras GM's when I was a wee bitty kid just starting out in MMO's too. You'll get over it and one day grow up to learn that harrasing players with game mechanics is far more satisfying and does not result in account bans.
So all that leaves me with is one question. You are clearly wrong, the misleading title confirms that you know you were wrong... And yet you still made a post about it surely expecting everyone reading it to tell you that you were wrong. So my question is Why? My best guess is that you are atroll, but perhaps you are just angry and needed a place to vent. Next time talk to a friend, they are far more understanding than the internet.
I love how people commenting on this game copy cat'ing this game and so on. These are MMO's the basic formula is UNIVERSAL just like how all FPS games use the same formula, first person view, gun, reloading, ammo, checkpoint systems, etc. All strategy games for the most part use the same basic micro managment system. The "MMO system" is a universal thing, companies just skin it with thier own game. The fact of the matter is, Blizzard took the theme park model which is the prime MMO model, and made a very high quality game with it, lots of other companies have also made theme park model MMO's but have not done nearly as good a job. these games arent copying ANYTHING ugh people.

GM's in a lot of game can not check data bases. . can not check code. . they can deal with account issues and have a set of tools they can use in game.
The GM did the right thing. If you had a complaint about how it was handled you should have sent an email about the GM. . not 3 more tickets on the same thing.
What did he expect the GM to do about the low ore rate anyway.

Yeah, great rules, very customer friendly. So, if they hire a suspend happy 16 year old kid as a GM who is having a bad day(Turbine Staff) who is on a power trip, we are all screwed when we report a problem and expect to be heard as a paying customer.
