The processor is plenty fast enough, and the system has plenty of memory. It's a decent enough gaming video card, though you could probably get something better on your budget. So yeah, it can run games.
I wouldn't recommend that computer, though. A small case with only one fan isn't a good idea for a gaming computer. I wouldn't trust a computer that doesn't say what power supply it includes, either.
If you're willing to assemble a computer from parts, you can get something really a lot nicer for that price, though. From the same site:

As compared to what you picked, that will get you the same OS, an equivalent optical drive, equivalent memory, and a comparable processor, if perhaps slightly inferior to the pre-built one. But it will also get you a much nicer case with two big fans, for a lot more airflow. It will probably get you a much better power supply, for greater reliability. It will get you a much faster hard drive, so you don't have to sit and wait for your computer so often. It's a considerably better motherboard, with more PCI Express 2.0 lanes, SATA 3 in the chipset, and USB 3.0 on the motherboard. And most importantly, it gets you a vastly superior video card, with nearly double the video performance of the pre-built.
It does cost a little bit more than the pre-built. If that's a problem for you, you can drop down to a cheaper video card that is still maybe 50% faster than the one in the pre-built, and have a system cheaper on net:

Those two cards will give roughly comparable performance. The first card will use significantly less power, so once you pay your electricity bill, it's far from clear which will be more expensive. The first is cheaper in the US than the second (both in practice and by MSRP), so I'm surprised to see it the other way around in Australia. Regardless, if you have any preferences between AMD and Nvidia, you can go either way and get a decent deal.
That computer looks OK and the box is fine - for regular gaming with that setup you don't need to overclock.
But as the other guy said building your own could be alot chaeper. I did some research and put together an awesome gaming rig for only $1150 after great rebates and combo deals. (I already had speakers, keyboard and mouse) Through newegg.com:

Even if that were a great gaming computer, prices in US$ at an American e-tailer doesn't do much good for someone in Australia.
Really, though, a cheap junk power supply? A GTX 465 space heater that never has been a good value and probably never will be? Paying a large premium for a Bloomfield processor for no real reason in particular, as you're not using SLI/CrossFire, more than 16 GB of system memory, a Gulftown processor, or any other justification for the LGA 1366/X58 combination?
