Quests and levelling PvE

Hey, I've played DAoC on and off for a while, but haven't played at all in the last 2 years. When I did play, I remember enjoying the zones and quests, but hating the instanced levelling that Catacombs brought. Do people still quest/grind in the main zones, Shrouded Isle zones, or in Catacombs?
I am thinking about playing again, but only if I can level in zones rather than the same instanced caves over and over again.

of course you can! might be a little harder sometimes but that was how the game was back then. hard but alot more fun to travel, go for it i was thinking of doing the samething

Which FF Character Are You?
The last few times I played, there was an XP bonus for the NON instanced areas. So you leveled faster by leveling in normal zones, new frontiers, the bgs, and so on. The instances had no XP bonus or a much smaller bonus.
They pretty much wanted to kill the Catacombs instances if I remember correctly.
yes thats true they still give the extra XP
