Looking for a dark game

I need a game but all the games i see these days are bright colored happy games. I want a game that has a dark and evil feal to it, I love vampires and necromancers and zombies and all kinds of othere things no dont normaly see in mmo's these days. But im hoping there is game out there i missed like that if anyone can let me know of any that would be great.

Your best bet is The Secret World but it is still in development. The other one would be i think World of Darkness which got announced like... just now i think .

I think AoC is the darkest thing around still. Blood, gore and evil is plenty in there.
There will be more and darker games later but right now there is slim pickings. Worst is that WAR should have been very dark if they followed the original lore but instead they made it light and shiny.
Ha yes, well AoC was too obvious.. What about Darkfall and Mortal Online? :P

The only thing about DF and MO that's "dark" is their nights. You can't see shit.
Fallen Earth has an underlying tone of comedy to a lot of it, as should be expected of a post-apoc game in the vein of Fallout.

Yeah i was pissed about WAR not sure why they made it that way. Im a tabletop player and have a chaos army and dark eldar so i was at a loss when i saw the game. But i need somthing so mabey i will try AoC again or try 2moons.
Ok well i just tried to go and play 2moons but the game shut down so thats a no go any othere ideas out there.
I mostly play Darkfall and it feels pretty Dark, especially if you play an Alfar. You can kill others and take all of their stuff!

Definitely not a kids game. You cannot play a vampire, werewolf, or anything like that and there are beautiful areas of the world that do not feel dark but it is far from flashy and cartoony like most of the games out there. It is the hardest game that I can think of too. No other game can top its PVP and even the PVE feels more realistic than any other MMO that I have played. No floating names or numbers or any of that crap. No running from NPC to NPC to deliver a twig to legolas or running around watching for floating exclamation points above quest-givers heads. PVE expansion is next week. A lot of new stuff is expected. Even people who hate it will agree that no other game can match the adrenaline rush that you can get from this game.
I left AoC for this and never looked back.

PvE expansion?
Darkfall mobs are unlike most mobs in other games. They can see and hear so you don't pull aggro by simply going within range like in most other games. They feel a lot more realistic to fight and spawn in strategic places (far away if you are killing them easily or right on top of you if you are in trouble). It feels like they have actual intelligence at times but can act broken at other times. I cant wait to see what they will be like in a year from now because with more polish they will be superior to every other game. Mobs in Darkfall skill up as they hit you and they are working on wandering mobs and mobs banding together to invade neighboring player-holdings! Not sure if we'll see that part yet but there will definitely by some new graphics, animations, and monsters with unique abilities. All dungeons have been revamped and new dungeons added all over (also some new dungeons beneath Capital cities so should be very safe compared to out in the wild). Environmental sounds added so that when you are near a waterfall for example it will be easier to sneak up on someone or something or harvest peacefully without enemies hearing you.
They mentioned hidden quests not open to the public that people will stumble upon occasionally and things to bring more meaning to those empty (but cool looking) areas like treasure maps and shovels that dig up valuables. There is going to be some more Dynamic Lore Events coming up right after expansion (which is next Tuesday) which is probably going to be following the lines of PVE so who knows? An epic boss mob raging the countryside? Mobs all rushing the friendly cities? I know that they are working on this stuff and if they are ready to start doing this now than it is going to be so epic! They are saying to read up on the lore. Who knows, maybe it will just be a short events that pisses people off? lol : )
Right now wars are waging over player cities that are closest to dungeons because people are thinking that they will have more value later on.

They showed us that much . .. also they have said that the annoying sliding effect that you see when a monster dies will be replaced by something really cool . .. do they mean a ragdoll effect like in Oblivion? Or fatalities like AoC? Who knows . .. but the potential is there. Lots of it. I hope that feature is added this expansion as well but maybe it will be in the one after that coming up (DF2010).

Have to agree with this. The only game where i actually said "WOW HOLLY SHIT" to the mobs. It's pretty scary if you use your imagination. However, pvp is very unbalanced last time i played. But the bosses in PVE look pretty brutal. It's just your standard MMO. Horrified.
