A plane just messed up my router. (Lame excuses for leaving groups)

What are some of the lamest excuses that you guys have heard before someone left your pick up group or raid? The title of the thread was one excuse that I've heard before. The second lamest was "Sorry I've got to go because I forgot to put thermal paste on my cpu".

If you're one of those people that makes up lame excuses and then just go joins the group next to me then you go from being a just a bastard to a bastard traitor....it's just not worth it just tell the truth.

My dogs's eating my router, must stop him!

Lol but seriously, those seem like legit excuses.

Are you sitting and playing on the toilet?

But my favorite was on St Paddys day: "Sorry, the last beer took badly, passing out"...

Some kid was actually kicked out of my old guild for leaving in the middle of a raid. He said "Sorry guys..I have to go because my mom wants me to eat dinner now". It's a genuine excuse but it still sounds pretty lame.

Heard that one a few times, along with having to put out the trash.

I used "brb, going on holiday" once, after waiting for nearly an hour for people to return from being afk.

Hey, sometimes people have to just leave, ya know?

The most ridiculous excuse is when there isn't one and the person just leaves after getting what they want.

"Hey guys, let's start a 6-man group and all get ourselves the items we need for the weapons each of us want."

    "Yeah, that sounds swell."

    - He/she gets their item, while the rest of the group doesn't.

"Hey guys, it's late, so we'll talk to you tomorrow."

Leaving everyone 2 hours into the dungeon and with nothing to show for it. Yay.

I remember a few times that they had to turn off the computer because there is a lightning storm going on. I think once was legit, but the other time from someone else it was fake.

On a side note, once in daoc at pygmies, my monitor went out, but I kept playing for another 30minutes by just assisting and nuking when I heard the pulls. Left finally after I leveled and went and bought a new monitor, heh. Luckily friends were in group, so I just called them to make sure I was actually helping the group and wasn't lying about the monitor, lol.

That and seeing the guy who formed the group aggroing an entire room, dieing, then calling everyone noobs and quiting.

Another one I've heard is "my borther's downloading porn and took all the bandwidth".

"Hey guys, sorry I gotta go, gf bothering me"

Its not lame, but I have to say its the most used excuse ever. Either they have an actual gf, who is indeed bothering him. Or he doesn't and kills two birds with 1 stone by leaving rudely and boosting his epeen. Personaly I just never play around my girlfriend, who doesn't play MMOs.

not all are lame but some of the funny ones i've heard was.

"i gotta go my kid just cracked his head open, taking him to the hospital" sorry but if my kid has a head injury bad enough i have to run him to the hospital you'll be lucky if i turn the computer off before i leave. saw the person later asked how thier kid was doing and took them a min to remember they had used him to get out of a group lol

"i gotta go, wife aggro" i've seen alot, from different people.

i know i've heard more just drawing a blank at the moment

Pug´s can get you a few laughs for lame leaves.

Oh shit, gotta go my legs asleep- Whaaaat you play with your leg?

My dog pissed on the computer have to go- If that was me I would not have written anything just going for damage control asap

And my favorite: 2 hours into a pug raid: Aw man I can´t stand elfs with green hair, bye.

All statements I make is from my point of view unless stated otherwise.

Omg this really happened. Eq1 at paw spires. Guy says "afk wife having baby". He left and like 5 hrs later he comes back after we forgot he was still in group and he says "its a boy!" And we were like wtf where is your wife? And he's like "at the hospital. Whoa nice xp...u guys been busy". CraZy lol...

Btw wonder if previous poster saw the same! Loll...honestly it was long enough ago that it was prolly true. Now adays too many ppl joke.

LOL, same thing happened to me once in EQ.

I have also used 'cat on fire bbl' once when in a group. Wasn't really an excuse to just drop group - girlfriend had a couple of scented candles going on the mantel and our cat was nosey/stupid and I think she also had a death wish as she used to lick the wall outlet for hours on end...

Funny thing is, I ended up grouping with those people again and eventually joined the same guild. Before every dungeon/raid when everyone was doing their ready lists, one of them would always ask if I locked the cat up...

There are 3 types of people in the world.
1.) Those who make things happen
2.) Those who watch things happen
3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"

    I got the following:

Gotta go, grandma is on fire.

    And

Getting robbed, they want the computer....

No required quests! And if I decide I want to be an assassin-cartographer-dancer-pastry chef who lives only to stalk and kill interior decorators, then that's who I want to be, even if it takes me four years to max all the skills and everyone else thinks I'm freaking nuts. -Madimorga-

My very first raid, and I was at my girlfriends on her computer.  The rain starts pouring and I kept getting DC'd because the DSL was lame.

Too bad I was healing :-(

One of our tank in middle of a raid, well he didnt said he was leaving but he came back 30mins after, his excuse: I was buying beers at the store...

"BRB PAINTING THE HOUSE "    <--- That the excuse i was using the most frequently, because too many people used so lame excuse to leave in middle of raid. I was using some sarcasm when i needed to go BIO or taking a drink :P

Had this in a group before.  The group was pretty much speechless.  Had the..."A car just crashed into my house!" too.  Pretty funny stuff if your not the person.

"Getting robbed, they want the computer...."

I've had to leave groups many times because of thunderstorms.  We get severe ones here, and besides the fact that I have an irational terror of lightning, I'm not risking the computer I can't afford to replace, and the only computer I play games on.

I've heard a couple people claim tornados were going by their houses, cops were at the door, the cat is foaming at the mouth, and "I have to either walk the dog or clean the rug."

But I think the ones I hear the most are, 'wife aggro' and 'the baby just woke up'.

I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy, accompanied by an educational system which would be oriented toward social goals.
