What do you think APB was missing.

I believe this game had best customization than any MMO to this date, but the gameplay missed alot of depth.

So what do you think was missing from the game? Post a reasonable addition that this game should've had, that other games have already implemented perhaps, that it's certainly doable and not some whishful thinking. Perhaps these suggestions could serve as a stepping stone for any developer who decides to buy this game and re do it.

My list:

More things to do in town: minigames such as pool, bowling, casinos. Strip clubs and bars. Apartments, of different size and value, furnishing. Subway/train system. ALL buildings to be interactive, meaning that you could enter them even if they didnt have any use, but you could still have faction shootouts in them. NPC factions.

According to official figures, out of 12 test launches of the Bulava, only five found to be successful or partially successful.

    My short list?

Shooting Mechanics - Use some modern shooting physics next time so people can actually lead a target and shoot right.

Progression - Non linear progression! Use it damnit! Don't make a freaking tiered set of increasingly powerful junk in a skill based system. Allow for expansion of repetiore and specialization of character roles via unlocking of chosen and/or frequently used categories of weapons, abilities, gear, etc.

AI - Something a bit more varied and life instilling that civilians that exist ony to get mugged, carjacked, shot, and ran over.

Territories - Fight for something, not just fight.

More Things to Do - Side objectives, minigames, clan hideouts and interior decoration, races...

A Proper Networking Layer/Server Architecture - MAG uses the same game engine. Zipper Interactive and SCEA rewrote the networking layer of the engine entirely in order to cleanly support 256 people shooting at one another with a comprable level of grahpical detail while using proper bullet physics.

All I can think of for the moment.

"The knowledge of the theory of logic has no tendency whatever to make men good reasoners." - Thomas B. Macaulay

"The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge." - Daniel J. Boorstin

the problem was for me 2 major gameplay things ...

i played the game both as competitive and casual even tho i would still find something missing.

    1. competitive

Leagues are somewhat ok, its like a ladder, the problem was that the rewards where quite useless, we where a small clan (skurk) and since we went for KDR / win-loss ratio, that ment for us that we couldt play if u wasnt 4 online since we would screw over our stats with random people. and then if we where 5 people, 1 of us couldt play. It was also really frustrating to get matches against newcommers and roll them, its not fun in the long run for either us or them.

    2. Casual

after stopping as competitive player and just trying to enjoy the game, for an hour once in a while, then i found it really slow to get going in... log in, start a mission without enemy's ... maybe 2 or 3. That made me go login to Battilefield bad company 2 insted, where i knew i would have some action and fun right away!

    3. Solutions

As for the competitive part, add some challange system and as a lot of people have said, make teritory controles or something get rid of the league stats so people can still play outside competitive times. maybe declaring war on other clans so its KoS for them. and finally some decent rewards, money dont really got much value in the game when u first played for quite a while. not sure what kind of reward u could get, but im sure thats only a really small problem for a company to think off.

the casual part,  why not make crim vs crim and enf vs enf ... i know its against the little lore there is, but cmon the game dont really got much lore anyway, screw the little there is, that would mean instant action more or less.

Balance   --    and a fleshed out world. What I mean by that is buildings you can actually walk into that are bigger than a cardboard set prop, with people and objects inside them that you can interact with.

Vault-Tec analysts have concluded that the odds of worldwide nuclear armaggeddon this decade are 17,143,762... to 1.

I would put 1. Usable buildings, 2. Territorial wars, on top of the list.

Having control of a town would ve been a great feature. It could give you perks on trading and buying, more security for your faction and more.

Pretty much territorial warfare is a must for any MMO out there today, its the only end-game content that holds ground today.
