Question on Product Keys

My buddy in the UK finally talked me into trying to join him on the EU servers, but I'm stateside. I've downloaded the EU client, and while trying to set up an account it asked me for a product key. So, while on the APB store I keep getting reffered to the NA box, even if I check it from the EU site. I'd like to know if the product code from it would work if I tried to get into the EU servers, or if I'd have to get him to buy a copy, then hand off the PC. In the latter case, would I even be able to get in, or would I have to "get around" an IP block somehow?

Edit; Nevermind, I paypal'd my bud some cash and he bought me a key from their site, game works fine from overseas - and it's pretty damn fun.
