Help me choose

Ok i've narrowed my game down to 3 options: Darkfall, Mortal Online, Ultima Online; I'm also open to more suggestions.

I'm looking for:

A game that will keep me occupied for a long time 1yr+,

PVE with challenges and tactics needed rather than sitting at your computer hitting keys E.G 1,2,1,6,4,7 And you win the fight.

Full loot PVP.

Insane Community.

Rare gear to work towards.

Not to grindy.

Would also be good if it could be played on a school network (I go to a boarding school)

I don't really care about graphics i'm after gameplay I also don't mind some bugs or server crashes.

I think the choice is pretty obvious . ...

    - Darkfall has the funnest, hardest, and most fast-paced twitch-based combat. Your surroundings matter and you can use ramparts as cover against arrows, etc. Very reastic feeling.

    - Darkfall has a better mob AI than any other game out there so grinding PVE is funner.

    - There are so many places to explore, dungeons to crawl, naval & mounted combat, things to conquor, clan holdings to build and defend, etc. that I have been playing for 16+ months and still have not experienced a lot of content.

    - Best bunny-hopping physics that you can find in any other game. Once you get used to it going to another game can feel like someone took away your ability to jump or placed an invisible wall in front of you. Everything that you see in Darkfall besides the sky can be climbed on, etc.

    - Largest hand-crafted seamless no-instanced open-world MMO in existance.

    - Player freedom! Almost everything is run by players.

    - Community. I prefer Darkfall's community over most games because almost everyone that I come across is another adult with a job and family with responsibilities. Kids are very rarely found here. It is very spread out so it can take some time to find friends. It is primarily clan vs clan based so there is never any '30 rogue LFG' etc. You create your own friends, enemies, and groups just like you would in real life.

It is only too grindy if you make it too grindy. I have never even grind yet in the game really . .. lol

There are no level-limits so you are not having to grind to pass through some invisible wall like in most games. There are no invisible walls in Darkfall.

Well Darkfall have the most insane community to ever exist on the internet so atleast that part seems right!

Killing goblins in DF is probably the most boring thing I have done in a MMO, I even enjoyed MO more.

    If WoW = The Beatles
    and WAR = Led Zeppelin
    Then LotrO = Pink Floyd

You enjoy killing pigs in MO more? LOL

There are like a dozen mobs in the game total it felt like . .. this guy said that he would like to play a game for a year plus. I've done this in Darkfall and it was great but I couldn't make it to month 2 in MO since there is not much to do.

To the OP: There is seriously only a few mobs in the entire world of MO and the combat is so broken . .. you may enjoy it more than Darkfall during your first couple weeks but I do not see anyone enjoying it more when it comes to months of play. Darkfall has player-made cities with constant wars, naval combat, dungeons, etc. Even the dungeons in MO are empty.

    It is a no-brainer imo.

    UO has become out-dated.

hmm I will need to try it at school to see if it works though, I have already got a char in Darkfall 60hrs in from the 7 day trial.  I was just wondering, I may have been kicked from the clan i was in and I recall login out for the last time inside the clan city so... what will hapeen if i'm bound to the clan city will I keep on getting killed by the towers and clan members and re-spwaning, or what?

There is a bug that you may possibly come across. Makes you spawn without a shield . .. in an enemy clan city (like if it was conquored). If this happens to you type /gm_help warp summon me to you to fix the no shield bug please

When you log in check your system log. If you logged into an enemy city than it will show that you tripped the wire.

They may have fixed it already, who knows? I know that happened to me once though but the GMs were immediate and helped a lot.
