Well said. Well said. Im just a bit dissapointed. Helmets and shoulder armor have always been the coolest part of an armor in my opinion. Probably got it from WoW.
If you want to play Dawn of War 2 online with me PM me.
No helmets so far, classes are restricted to one weapon type, and chest/shoulder/leg armor is all just one piece, so are weapons (ie dual swords come in sets). I agree, it sucks.
They have said theyre making changes to armor and armor slots according to some FGT suggestions but havent announced what it is or of itll make it by release. Hopefully we'll at least get helmets and separate shoulder armor. Then again, while they can be the best looking pieces in an MMO, they can also be the ugliest, lol.
Why do we care. The vast majority of players turn helmets off in games which have them. Developers work very hard on facial features and customization only to have them covered up by a helmet.
If it is a stats issue they can just incorperate that stat into all the other pieces of equipment.

BS, unless you can back that up with something, but i doubt thats gonna happen.
I don't.
In reply to the topic. Most Asian developed games have no helmets, most western games do. Just a cultural difference I guess. Aion had no helms, neither did L2.

In most games I have played that is the case also.
Just talking from my experience though.
Same here, myself included. Has to be a pretty awesome looking helm to get me to turn it on, most times though, if there is an option to turn it off it is.

Aion has helmets. If they look good I usually keep them on, if not I don't display them. I do like a good looking helmet usually.

Well, a lot of players in LOTRO have their helmets off.
I've seen most players in Vangard with their helmets off.
I have my helmet off in both games as well.
Proof? Just what I see but nothing that is hardcore evidence.
Vanguard originally had no helmets and it was added later, so alot of ppl got used to no helmet and/or the helmet graphic didn;t work with people's outfits, escpecially mages

Aion had helmets
Allot of the helms had a lack of eye holes.
Yup, and this is why my helmet was always off in AION. Seriously, what the HELL is that?!?!?

D'oh, I remember that now. It seemed to me, when I played, they were just limited in quantity and graphics, not missing. I mis-remembered.
For Vanguard they only weren't in because the devs couldn't get them to work, as usual. I like the one I got from HL that's on my DK right now. For my casters I normally turn off the helm but turn on the hood.

Lol yeah, the game had amazing looking gear..Just a shame that the helms mostly sucked.

Its like saying, 70% of a population is overweight. The survery only included 1000 people. For all we know there could be 10 million that are perfectly fit but the other 1000 is overweight.
Its extremely hard to say the vast majority turn helmets off unless of course you know them all and have asked
I gotta agree most people I saw in the MMOs I've played turn their helmets off if possible. Sure it's not hard evidence but it's pretty stricking when you really look. And imo it has more to do with poor armor design than anything else be it ears / hairs going through, just plain ugly looking design or simply because people don't want to look like clones ( which is especially true for WoW ).
like others have said it depends on the helm wether i showed it or not. if it looked like ass i turned it off but i do usually show them. Aion for the casters atleast they was all circlets, all the ones i ever had anyway. but does seem dumb not to have them at all in a game tho. helms and shoulder pieces to me are what stand out the most and i would ofetn look for the cooler looking ones. like i REALLY liked the leather epic crafted helm/mask in Aion and have it equiped on my ranger now. it was like a ninja mask with alot of detail on it. but the plate pvp helms looked like something from Guyver, seriously it looked like they took it exactly form that old anime.
Yeah. I S'pose I can get over it if there's no helmets I would just be dissapointed. Oh well. Btw that Aion helmet was badass. I guess thats just my weird taste.

No need for a helmet, just a string bikini.

Shoulder armor in WoW is absolutely hideous.
Oh man - I can see this becoming this game's version of the "jumping/swimming" debate from FFXIV...

Apparently stating the truth in my sig is "trolling"
Sig typo fixed thanks to an observant stragen001.
helmets leads to helmet head, and nobody likes that!
