I was scammed by a market seller and lost ALOT of gold I spoke to csr and theres nothing they can do about it. If your an honest person please play a game that has better and tighter rules when it comes to scamming players.
Not many seem to care either it seems to be that people are just that nasty and expect it. I refuse to become part of the problem by repeating it and have decided to take my money elsewhere.

Dead game is dead.
There's scammers in every game. I'm still waiting since 2 days after Battle.net accounts went live on WoW to get my account back...well ok I'm not waiting anymore, but still, it happens lol.
Well Im pleased you got your account back at least blizzard was working for you rather than against you which seems to be the stance of mythic when it comes to scams and rife dishonesty.
Dont blame mythic for your own ignorance.
in all honesty that scam crap has been goin on for many many years.... i have been playin the game since beta off and on and actually just resubbed 2 weeks ago. it is dirty yes but there is crap like that in pritty much every game u play. truely it isn't all there fault really. it's isn't hard to tell the differance in G and P. if anything it will make u more aware next time u go to buy stuff.
Yep.
It was your screw up, dont blame mythic.
Most games won't refund you for getting "scammed" by another player if it is "in game". . look at WoW's auction house. .EVE is a great example. . mechanics making you lose money. . yes. . players . . no.
Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is!
really, dont blame the game because you got scammed and dont be upset at the CSR for not refunded the gold you were scammed out of.
nobody here knows the details of the scam, but odds are it was one of the ever popular "to good to be true" scenerios. MMO's have had players who scammed since there were MMO's.
I use to put up buy shops disguised as sell shops in Lineage 2 when it first came out where it would appear I was selling an item for an EXTREMELY low price in noob areas (wearing my noob gear). The noobs would think I didnt know the price of an item I was selling it for a fraction of the price. The thing was, being in a noob area they didnt know the difference between a buy and sell shop (which was the overhead text color) and would end up selling ME the items I was appearing to sell to them for these very low prices. I thought it was very justified because they were actually trying to take advantage of a noobs ignorance of the price of an item, a "too good to be true" situation.
dont you ever hear of the corporation scams in eve online? They make huge MMO news about once a year when a lone player makes it into high ranks in a corp then dissolves the corporation never to be heard of again liquidating all of their assets and stealing all of their blue prints. These players get deeply involved in these corporations for the sole purpose of robbing them, and CCP just smiles and says "welcome to Eve! The players control the world here"
As linear as some MMO's are, theres still that unknown variable of real human interaction. Without this, you really steal the soul from whats massive and multiplayer.
How did that 'seller' get your gold without you giving it to them? Did you mail it to them? Did you hit accept before they put items in the trade window? Honestly, like everyone else above has said, the fault is yours not the games.
I got scammed back in the UO days - guy told me of an add on to keep track of sales, downloaded it, put in my username and password, 10 minutes later my account password was changed and all my gold gone.
I was young and naive back then, but these scammers have been around for a LONG time! Your not the first, you wont be the last.
And no, there really isnt a huge amount the devs of games can do - apart from seeing that you logged in and gave someone your gold. Hard to prove it wasnt you.

Sorry cant take clown avatars seriously .
Anyway Im sticking with the game but I sincerely believe that people who operate in a underhand way should be held to account by the gaming company and I hope as the industry moves forward a more aggressive stance is assumed.
You have no one to blame but yourself.

Thats not true, if it was set up in order to trick people if it happened in real life I would have my local government at the store investigating it. Or I would be taking my own action.
You do not have stores running around going HAHA I have your credit card number Im now swiping it as fast as I can for uber l33t monies. Why dont they? Cause its fraud and they go to jail.
I have not been tricked in other games because the rules do not allow people to.
It’s a game, learn from your mistakes and move on.

I have
Yeah , because most games have "dummy" proofed alot of things for this particular reason. It ends up being a customer service nightmare with the amount fo time they have to sepnd on complaints. In the end though , yes it is your fault. But you've learned and life goes on. Scammers suck ....
if you were ever playing this game (or any other) you click the "agree to terms of service" just before download. therefore you already agreed to how the csr's would act if you got ripped off in a trade etc...
stop whining. you screwed yourself, and you already gave permission for yourself to be screwed, and accepted it was your fault, before you even started playing.
Did someone price an elixir for 10 plat instead of 10 gold?
Double check before buying.
while i do not play daoc anymore i think its wrong to blacklist a game based on ingame scam.
most mmorpg companies will refund your account if u got scammed out of game for it.i can testify to a friend getting his EQ2 account back and many wow accounts returned as wow is the main target for scamming nowadays.
but ingame scams such as not looking at what you are trading or using a third person program and losing gold/items usually no mmorpg company will refurn you.
last ever i heard of such a refund when it was clearly the buyers fault was in EQ1 in 2000 when server gm existed and that was because our server gm was unique to our server and actually had a toon on the server so weighed the reputation of the scammer against the one scammed.
u cannot have that in any mmorpg anymore since we are all jus a number now for a csr.
