The Chinese Dragon Nest open beta test has begun! This time you don't need any key and every Shanda users could access to the game.



Now we start to provide the Dragon Nest Download (CN Server), click here to download the client:

Next I will show you how to register a normal Dragon Nest Account.



1. Click here to the official site: http://dn.sdo.com/



2. After loading the page, you could find many buttons: Registration, Client Download and Patch Download. (You need to download and install all the patches. pleast note that all the patches will be .exe files so that you just install them in the Dragon Nest folder )







After installing the client, you just click the Registration Button and go to the next page.



3. Choose the left Rigstration Button to create a normal account.







4. Fill in the accout and password. (Below them you can fill in the Chinese Name and ID Number so as to create an Adult Account, otherwise your accout will be ranked as 18- account. It may afftect you in the future, but not the beta test. lol! )







5. Congrats! Now you successfully created your Dragon Nest Account! Go for your adventure!

    Hey guys,



    Just want to pop in and say I'm currently playing on Server 2 of ?????? (North East 2, see pic below). I chose this server because it seems less populated, all the others have 1000+ in queues last time I checked. So if you are just starting on CN servers, please join me for some English company. My main is a mage named Veve :)

    And if you are still downloading the client and find it going very slowly, try the official torrent instead, it should be much faster:

    Also, you'll need these two patches:

    I downloaded the game and installed, but I'm running into problems patching. I downloaded the exe, ran it, threw it in the folder and ran it, but just kept getting some error. I'm going to try to leave the installer over night.

     

    What server has some English population?

     

    Hope to see someone in there!

    Since my previous post, they have released three new patches:

    Also it might help if you rename the game folder so it only contains English characters in the path (so no Chinese or gibberish symbols), after you've done that you may need to update the path in the registry. Look in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARESNDAdn or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWow6432NodeSNDAdn on 64 bit Widnows.

     

    Finally, you may want to check the DN section on Steparu forums as there are more people posting there.

    There's actually excellent game pad support via JoyToKey since it isn't blocked. I was able to play to lvl 5 just fine with my xbox 360 controller and it was tons of fun. I just can't figure out what R is for.

     

    I should check out that Steparu forum. The game has a really high level of polish. Bummer I don't understand chinese lol. I need to find translations for the talents/skills at least.

     

    I got invited to a group with 2 other Chinese people. They didn't understand me at all but they were pretty patient with me while I ran around town lost. The other warrior showed me by swaping his weapons a lot in front of my face that I should be using a mace instead of the axe lol. Partying with them was fun, the archer was really laying it down. I had my controller setup surprisingly well so I was playing pretty well myself it was fun.

     

    What I liked is that there's a little reset period before doing a tumble. I hate it when there's no restriction on that and people just dive around nonstop. It looks and feels silly. So far this game gets my approval if you can get past not knowing wtf is going on lol. The game has an arrow that shows you where to go for most questing purposes (that I've seen to lvl 5), so that's how you get by without knowing whats up.

    R key is for reviving yourself or dead teammates (at the cost of a "heart").

    I would like the game in english too .. although i read chinese well but i don't have the stupid software to type it =(

    if u have windows and need ot type chinese then just go to your control panel--->Clock, language, and Region then click change keyboard and the rest is self explanatory =)
