do there even need to be character levels? why not militarize the "leveling" system say with guardsmen starting out as grunts promoted to corpral, seargent, heavy specialist, scout, veteran amd so on and so forth. obviously the top of the ladder cannot be general or commisar cause that would be stupid to have hundreds of players as commisars

probably because some people would want to stay as scouts or whatever, levels mean that you can be what you want
