I recommend this game if you're good at FPS. 2 Months of solid gameplay for $50.00. APB is a winner!

APB delivers something new.  It is a highly addictive adrenaline filled environment. If you are good at FPS games you will feel right at home. The game gives a fresh feel to MMO gaming with the FPS twist.

By paying $49.95 the game will give you a lot of fun for 2 months, then maybe by the 3rd month you will get a little bored and then only play here & there.

Most games last about 1-2 months before you get bored and that is worth $49.95 in my opinion. This game gets two thumbs up for me.

I know a lot of you may feel burned from buying other MMO games that turned out to be real shitty, but don't worry.

APB delivers.

    APB delivers.

One would imagine if you're good at FPSes, it in fact wouldn't "deliver" as there is only one hitbox and the game plays considerably more like an arcade style 3rd person shooter than a FPS.

Additionally, I find it hard for a game to give a "fresh new tw1st (see I used a number there to make it more extreme!)" on MMOs when it is not an MMO. Though sometimes people dress up in fur suits and pretend to be foxes too, so perhaps APB is an MMO in the same way a foxfur is an animal.

I must admit though. That is a great value for some super casual gaming. I mean, six hours of repetative luke warm action a week for two months is fantastic! You don't even have some stupid story or engaging gameplay to get in the way like most other $50  non-mmo games that don't require a monthly fee. Just jump in, enter that social zone, and get you some exciting arts and crafts!

APB really is a winner! It's easy to win when you're in a class all of your own though, because it's utterly unique to try to exploit your fan base as severely as this game has.

Thank you for the remarkable shill post though. Otherwise I wouldn't have known how awesome the game truely was until the week long post-release review embargo ended...

Bans a perma, but so are sigs in necro posts.

Why would I want to do that when I can play Borderlands fo under $50.00 including all the dlc packs for as long as I live.

Why would I want to do that when I can play Global Agenda for free for as long as I live.

Why would I want to do that when I can pay $15.00 a month for a superior mmo like FFXIV coming our way soon!

In fact if you are good at FPS games and you like FPS games I wouldn't waste your time here. Good multiplayer shooters have much more to offer then APB and they are free of monthly charge.

Because you dont got GTA Online, =] That is what APB is its GTA 4 online, With customization, and lots of it. and personally..... i like playing GTA 4 just for the sandbox run around and cause chaos.

I don't think any FPS "MMO" that has been made comes close to delivering what FPS players want along with a massive multiplayer experience, in my opinion they're all a joke and not worth 1 dollar.

I at least tried Global Agenda because it didn't cost me anything, but it was 100% what I expected and was not fun or interesting. From everything I've read/heard about APB it is also exactly what I thought it would be, and there is no desire to pay money for that.

Yes, you do. Bring up the phone in GTA4 and select Multiplayer :)

Why would I want to play FFXIV instead of FF10 or any of the other FF series?

Why would I want to play Fallen Earth when I could play FO3

Why would I play WoW when I could play any number of single player RPG's?

Why would I play CoX or CO or even DCUO when I can play any number of single player Super Hero games?

Why would I play any MMO instead of a single player or multiplayer game that is done a great deal better? Lets face it, MMO's are behind non MMO games in graphics and mechanics by at least a decade.

So why play MMO's at all? Well.... it's for the community, persistent characters, the ever evolving world, playing in a world that has tons of other players all doing there own thing making that world feel alive. I mean sure..... I could play GTA 4, but not with hundreds of other players. Not in a world teeming with life and activity, not with a community I feel part of.

So ... I guess what I'm saying is.... don't ask silly questions.

And why not play GA? It's a lobby based PvE centric MMO with a fairly small non interactive world with some PvP. Put plainly it's boring and not worth a monthly fee, which I am glad to see they removed but.... it still isn't enough to get me to play.

Even if apb is given free with free gameplay it has nothing to keep me playing..and i am desperate for a game to play...its not bad..mut is just another online shooter...only good thing is the incredible costumization..the rest is just meh.

Wtg everyone for taking a dump on this guy's thread. I can't image how proud you must be to do this to every single game you dislike in anyway.

Personally I think APB is pretty damned good.  No it's not necessarily as good as <insert your favorite FPS here>.  And yes it needs some polish.  But as a macro game that tries to bring some focused random fun to PVP gameplay online? Yes.  it's got one of the best PvP systems for a conflict based MMOFPS to date, randomly generating missions for players, randomly assigning opponents, hunting down criminals or running from the law.  All of it works.

The random chaos that ensues during gameplay makes for some interesting matches as well.

It may not have "hitboxes" (for the unitiated, there's no locational damage) but frankly that works very well for a large scale balancing factor.  As it is you can get beaned at 70 meters by a crackshot with a rifle before you knew what hit you.  Dying any faster would just lead to larger amount of "hackz0rs!" complainers, and trust me, there are people good enough at headshots in any game that it would just make APB even more brutal.

Generally I've found the complainers against this game had trouble with the control scheme and often got pwned by opponents without ever giving the game a chance. AkA playing it for more than 2-3 hours and getting used to things.  Whats funny is that "losing" only controls how fast you earn cash and rank up. There's no real penalty to losing other then the sense of loss.  And yes, when you get completely anhilated by your enemy it is pretty damn frustrating.

But meh, to each their own. Price wise the game is a good deal compared to many modern day shooters.  It is aimed at and meant to be a very different experience than Modern Warfare 2 or Battlefield games, and doesn't try to be either.  It's also the closest thing to a modern day Planetside there is, and on that front, it does pretty well.
