hey RPGers can you help me by listing some RPG Classes that are popular to the RPG comunity. I asked here since I feel the RPers would have a strong background in lore and stories from PnP D&D and back.
- Paladin/Holy Fighter/Monk- Tank- Fighter/Mercenary- Priest (type of magic depends on the deity they serve)- Mage (Sort of the "academic" magic; includes healing, elements, necromancy, etc.)- Sorcerer/Shaman/Druid (innate, natural, raw magic)- Rogue/Thief/Assassin- Ranger/Scout/Tracker- Maybe a "seer"/psychic type of character, depending on the game setting- Possibly a "tech" kind of character (ex, hacker in Shadowrun, an engineer in more mediavl setting, etc.)
These are very broad types, but about every game uses at least three of them (fighter or tank, a priest or mage as healer, a priest or mage as dps).
Hope that helps you out:)
A list of character classes in role-playing games:
Demi-Human character classes (the earliest editions of D&D considered these to be classes):
Note: in the Lord of the Rings RPG, character classes are called "orders".
