Game Suggestions

Okay, this thread probably belongs in Game Suggestions, but I don't really care if anyone from Blizzard actually sees it, so....

What would you as World of Warcraft's players or non-players or once-players, critics or fanboys, like to see done to the World of Warcraft?

It can be whatever you think will make the game more fun or more appealing. Even if it's something that is totally impossible or unlikely, or something completely simple that just hasn't been done yet. What would you like to see? Please, one post is all I'm asking with everything you would like to see done to the MMORPG, World of Warcraft.

* ** *** ** *

First and foremost, I would like to see something done about character creation. Ever race/gender has but a single model in which everything is formed around and all you do is decide his/her haircut, hair color, whether he has a beard (or she has earings), skin color, face style, and basically you're done. What I would like to see is a complete rebuilding of not only the player character creation system, but the character creation system in general, PC's and NPC's. If you ever read the WoW Wiki, you'll soon realize that there are actually half-races inside the game; for instance, Lantresor of the Blade is a character in Warcraft lore, and is also a character depicted in the World of Warcraft game world. He is located at the Burning Blade Ruins in the territory of Nagrand. He is confirmed as a half-draenei / half-orc character, and yet, when you locate him, you will notice that he is simply an Orc male model painted gray. In fact, he is simply the Rend Blackhand's orc model painted gray. I would like to see these specific NPC's given special detail, give them features that stand apart from the pack, along with all the other NPC's in the game. Make a character creator that would make Cryptic Studios weap tears of joy.

That last point actually brings me to a secondary change I would like to see. Allow players to play half-races. I would love to play a half-Night Elf / half-Human or a half-Orc / half-Draenei. I'm not saying you have to put every race together, but I would like to see myself playing an Undead Orc. I mean, how COOL would that be. Something that would really give players another difference in the way they play the game and that sets them apart from every other player. I know that some would prefer to see more classes than races, and I would be one of those people, but all I'm asking on behalf of the races is this. Stop making new ones and instead, fuse the ones we've already got to give players a different feel of the game. It would also add for a new way of questing because each half-race would need their own starting area, or perhaps, the half-race would have a choice of picking either of their half-races start areas; for instance, a half-Human / half-Draenei could pick either the Human location or Draenei location to start at.

Now for those of you who noticed that I put a Horde and Alliance race together mix and thought, wait a second, that can't be done because their on two different teams, here's my suggestion to fix that problem. Make it so that races can transcend their factions. Make it so that a beginning character, Alliance or Horde, have a choice of either staying loyal to their faction or betraying it. The big problem is that we actually see characters like Tauren or Humans who have defected to the other side, but we're never given that choice. I'm not saying it should be easy to faction-hop, but at least make it possible. I mean, if there is a character and he jumps from the Alliance to the Horde, and then decides he made a mistake, allow him the ability to jump back to his original faction. Once again, don't make it easy because that wouldn't have any kind of realness to it, but at least allow it to happen.

End game. Okay, this is probably the most obvious of all the problems people have with the World of Warcraft game. Now, I have to personally say that I have never had a character beyond level 55. (Note to people who are just beginning the game: Don't level up a character just so you can play the Death Knight, because you'll most likely end up leaving the original character in the dust as you run off with your new boyriend, the Lich King) So, that being said, I have never actually done any end game things. But I have friends who have reached that endgame level multiple times and all I ever hear them doing is raiding and daily quests. I mean, the entire game is filled with some kind of storyline up until that point? Blizzard needs to come up with new storylines, and I don't just mean every time they come out with an expansion.

More storyline, period. I remember the first time I played World of Warcraft and I was so excited because I had heard so many good things about it. I remember the first month of playing and deciding whether or not I should renew my subscription and I remember deciding not to... the singular reason. Lack of storyline. After a while of playing, you do get kind of bored with the game because you're always grinding, whether it be on your local murloc infestation or a quest. It's always collect 8 of this, kill 5 of them, destroy 2 of these, create 1 of those. It's always a constant grind with questing. The only exploration quests there are to speak of is when someone asks you to go to a distant far away location so someone else can ask you to collect 8 of this, kill 5 of them, destroy 2 of these, create 1 of those. I would like to see more and more episodic, story quests. Quests that allow for a choice and an ending goal that will either better or worsen the lands of Azeroth.

And this has to bring me to my final change I would like to see with the World of Warcraft. The paying model. I have no problem with the instore price of the game, because that is fairly reasonable, as is the price of subscription, but none-the-less, I would like to see it come down, even if it's just a miniscule amount. Bringing the price down to $12.50 or $10.00 (or $5.00, whatever you're good with, Blizzard :D), would definitely relieve some stress off my wallet. And to make sure that this isn't a serious decrease in funds. A In-Game Item store. You would pay real life money for a special Blizzard money, and with this, you could buy special items or something. I really don't have any specifics of what would go into the store, but Blizzard being the money-making genius it is, I'm sure it could think of something. Perhaps special mounts.

Now, these are all my suggestions for changing the MMORPG, World of Warcraft. I have to ask, what are yours?

I stopped reading when you stated you never even leveled past 55.

When are people going to stop having suggestions on gameplay when they only heard  things from friends.

The game is out for almost 6 years, around a billion players have played it to max cap. Come back when that personal experience sets in bro.

It’s embarrassing when an NPC compliments you in an MMo, the only relevant, cool and epic things come from players whispering you “Grtz, mate, we did it”. copyright Pilnkplonk

More frequent expansions:  every 12 to 15 months would work.

Less porting for non-porting classes (i.e., folks who are not Shamans or Mages).  Insta-porting means everyone ends up hanging out in one artificial spot (i.e., Dalaran, Plane of Knowledge from EQ, etc...).  OR, throw in a cost (10 gold) for using ports.  Folks need to traverse and explore the world, not blip in and out of dungeons.

Limit LFG Tool to same server (for community building reasons).  If groups become hard to find for certain level ranges, simply jack up the prize for using the LFG Tool in random mode.  Problem solved.

Make the armor and weapons look a little more realistic.  Just a little bit more, not to change the art style of the game.

Yes, well, I was one of the stupid ones who, when I immediately got to level 55, tried out the Death Knight, and didn't go back.... by the time I had decided to go back, my subscription ran out, and I didn't have the money at the time to re-subscribe. Since then, that particular account has been hacked about half-a-dozen times.

And I can have as many suggestions as I want because most of my suggestions had to do with things that I had been apart of, like character creation, like quest / level grinding. I was being honest when I said that I had never reached the endgame, but I do have multiple friends who have and all I ever heard them talking about is raids and daily quests and 'pimping' their gear and working on leveling up their alts....

You can sit on your high-level pedestal and look down on me, but I can make as many suggestions as I wish simply because I've played enough of the game to get a feel for it and to understand most, if not all, of the game mechanics. I think you understand that and I'm pretty sure the only reason you came up in here with your high horse is because you were probably bored and wanted to start some drama.

So please, if you're not going to contribute to the thread, then don't post to the thread.
