Mass Effect movie project now science-fact

Shepard going to the big screen. I think Mass Effect is one of the most amazing story told games ever, not to mention it was pretty fun saving the universe.

I awlays thought it would make a great movie. Just hope they start it from the beginnning and make it a 2 part or 3 part story.

I've enjoyed some video games to movies creations but if I was to take away the novelty of the experience I'm not sure any of them were actually great movies.
Each of the movies I liked had some greatness, one could clearly see the potential for more greatness but none of them would garner an A from me.

Naw, i personally hope it's not even related to the plot of the games, and just follows the universe and the role of some new spectre. If they copy ME1/2 point for point it's just going to lead to a "been there, done that" feeling, and only LotR is classic enough to pull that off as many times as it wants.

That would be awesome if they can do it justice. I wouldn't worry about it being a scene-for-scene remake of the game's story, the move would be much too long if they tried that. I expect something inspired by the game's story, but fleshed out much differently.
I think Mass Effect combines a lot of the best qualities of Star Wars (visceral ground combat and an element of futuristic "magic") and Star Trek (interesting well defined alien cultures). Should make a cool movie if they do a good job on it.
You know, they could do the First Contact War. If Shepard is confirmed, it will most likely be centered around the Skyllian Blitz (War Hero) or the raid on the pirates in retalliation for the Blitz on Torfan (Ruthless). That's the possibilities I see.
As long as Uwe Boll isn't involved it could be fantastic...

Lore wise its got the potential to be a new "star trek" like franchise, (trekkies dont flame me
)
in my opinion it is second to none with its story and lore. (mass effect, that is)
but it could also be as big a flop so that it could end up hurting the sales for ME3.
Just my thoughts in short.
Sounds good on paper, though will have to wait to see what the basic plot line of the movie is along with director and along with possible actors and actresses. Honestly they have a wide field to play with but I realllly hope that they stay away from the game plot line. Can be very hard working such dynamic things into a movie.
