What happened to the official website?

I go away for a week and it's wiped out.

 

Nm, supposedly down for maintenance.

    You mean the http://www.meo.com website? That site was owned by Tolkien Int. which is why it now goes there. Here is the offical development website for MEO http://www.middle-earthonline.com.

    They removed all of the information.  Now that Turbine has secured the rights to The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit for themselves, they are reworking some key issues in the game.  They removed all of it because with their reworkings, some of that information is now void, and is not part of the game anymore.  The alignment system was removed from the game, for example, because it didn't integrate well into the actual game.  PvP was removed as well, but it was never mentioned in the website anyways, so it had little importance.

    They have launched a new website for the officials  lotro.turbine.com, with lots of new screen shots and info on why they changed the name and downloads. Nothing yet on races but it is just new and more info is coming out so be paitent.
