If you could, what post-NGE features would you put in old SWG?

Let me be clear here, I don't care for the NGE version of the game at all.

However, there were a few improvements that I'd take to the old SWG.

-- All in space and JTL changes and additions.

-- The ability to fly your ship from any starport to any starport instantly, even if you left your ship at a different starport than the planet you're on.

-- The 1 minute shuttleport/starport wait.

-- All newer creature and vehicle mounts and pick-up craft, including the quest for the rattletrap pickup.  For those that haven't played SWG in a long time, these are vehicles that can pick you up pretty much anywhere outside of a city as long as there isn't spawn or a building blocking the ground.

-- The house packing system.  Very helpful if you are out of game for awhile.

-- The increased storage.

-- Hoth.

-- In partial conjunction with the increased storage, the collector's quests that allow the improvement of things like your storage space.

-- The card game (sorry, I know some people think this one is dumb, but I like it).

I'm all for improvements, and though I probably say 'If only...' too much, I'm going to say it here.  If only SOE/LA had put these ideas in as improvements for the older game with the older combat/profession system...

Any other improvements anyone can think of?

If the unwanted NGE was never foisted onto the playerbase, I think SWG would have still enjoyed much of the added content and improvements that has been developed since then, such as 'heroic' instances, house pack-ups, collections,  and the new crafter schematics. I also think SWG would have enjoyed three or four expansions too. I can also think of systems that would have been prevented, such as in-game tokens/token vendors, rampant no-trade items, lack of decay and a failed GCW system. Sadly, the TCG would have still rolled around due to the cash grab the TCG loot cards support (why the TCG even exists).

More than anything: The appearance tab.

I got so sick of the composite clones, pre-CU.

I completely forgot about that one, that one's great.

Again, for anyone that hasn't been back, the appearance tab allows you to cover up your armor with clothing of your choice, so you can be equipped with armor but don't have to show the armor on you at all.  Very nice customisation feature.

DAMN!!! Good call! Would have totally missed that one as well. Actually, that would solve one of my most hated features pre-NGE...DECAY! I was never a fan of decay because matching the look you wanted was almost always a b!tch! But if I could a-tab the appearance I wanted while wearing armor that would die on me...I might have been OK with it.

    Again, great feature!

     Totally 100% agree...

I would not have minded the instances either...Especially Hoth...Even with all the problems it was killer to go to Hoth every now and again...
