Allods, Opinions + Question

TomShredsTomShreds Member Posts: 72

Hi!

Since Allods launch, I'm like oh this game is beautiful, oh this game has great potential, and I really think there's something good in that game, really.

But is it me or it is SLOW? I mean, walking is so damn slow, leveling is also slow as hell... It's like if I did not have enough patience to play the game lol...

This is no flame post, I don't want to start a fight but just share some opinions. Tell me what you think about the game.

Thanks :)

Unfortuanately you playing Allods the most expensive MMO on the market. There are solutions to all your problems in the cash shop but it is going to cost you big. Welcome to F2P pay to win gaming where real life money matters more than anything else.

I disagree about leveling being super slow.  Rather I think its way to fast.  One can reach max level in 5-8 days played thats not slow.  What slows people down is running out of fatigue.

There are some nice things about Allods such as some of the instances.  particularily Lab 13.  For a free game it has a lot of quality.  But it should for it's $12 million development cost.  There are many annoying things about Allods mainly due to the cash shop.  Its a good F2P game but it is lacking in content and quality compared to P2P game.  Plus being a  F2P game the community is beyond terrible.  Children everywhere with no knowledge of MMO etiquette, manners or the abiity to say anything other than gibberish.  Allods community makes WoW seem mature.

I disagree with many posters here about needing to use the CS.  Using the CS right now is not needed even remotely.  If they put in some of the changes they made on the Russian server that may change.

At 40 outside of heroics there is nothing to do.  The heroics are buggy and full fo exploits which many guilds have severely abused to speed up their gear progression and astral ship progress.

Allods is not expensive.  There are lots of people who never buy even one gpotato, the cash shop currency.

Yes, you can buy potions from the cash shop that give you an advantage.

Allods is still a little buggy.  There is a scout skill for example that gives you %20 evade change and teleports you randomly, but adjacent to the target.  It's bugged in that you can teleport into walls and furniture and get stuck.

Most of the game is pretty solid.  Stats are complicated.  There is fatigue to deal with.  I only play a few hours a day until I run out of fatigue.

    Besides instances there is PvP.

The community, once you get outside of the noob zone is pretty good.

It's one of the better free to plays around.

The big patch that supposed to fix stuff is already out on the russian servers.  No idea when the patch will appear on US servers.

Give it a shot, you'll have fun without spending a dime.  And if you do play up to 40, why not buy a few things from the cash shop?

    Potential - check

Beautiful - check (for a f2p) its decent

Slow - disagree here. Leveling is fast. Getting from zone to zone is fast once you have some portals to work with. Running everywhere is a bit slow, but comparable to most other games.

I still haven't decided if I even like the game. I'm level 22 and just about to hit the PvP zones. It's been good so far. Typical quest driven content with a few small instances to group in.

I think the game's strongest point it it's stat system and itemization. It's simple, yet complex. It works well. A lot of people don't like gear dependant games but I really enjoy trying to get the most out of gear/stats.

I tried it out and liked it very much.  The textures and overall design were superb.  One small thing I noticed that kind of stuck out was the clouds move to fast and look kind of funny, but that's just an observation really.  I agree that the stat system is great and if you are one of those people that like to strategize even the smallest percentages you'll like it.

It actually surprised me how overall impressed I was with the art design and polish of the game.  It's pretty close to being a must play in my opinion if they adjust some of the missions a wee bit and the spawn rates/placement.

You won't find a prettier free to play game than this one when you look at art direction, sound, music, and options.

I actually liked the game which was a bit of a surprise for me as I usually don't like f2p games.

It's very pretty, has, seemingly, great polish, has a rather whimsical wow'ish quality after being hit with the russian stick for flavor.

I love the floating elves, very cool. The quests are a bit pedestrian but I think this is a game that is more than the sum of its parts.

Try it, watch your wallet and see if it is something you can stick with. It doesn't cost anything if you don't want it to.

I don't get what people see in this game.  It was the most boring MMO I've tried in a long time.  Uninstalled after about an hour or two.

    When I want a single-player story, I'll play a single-player game. When I play an MMO, I want a massively multiplayer world.

Oh it's dry I'll give you that. I can't speak for later quests but the starter quests were a bit ugh.

However, as I mentioned above, it's pretty, I liked the energy stuff where if you use too much of a certani element you can use a skill that may be good or may be bad. For a free to play I thought it was on par (DDO excluded) as far as quests go.

I prefer Allods over Dungeons and Dragons online.  DDO has a great character system, but the combat consists of frantic clicking, the dungeons are repetitive, you are excluded from content until you buy it, and if there is PvP, I couldn't find it.

Allods is much more 'free' than DDO is.

hmmm, I think most of the content is free (at least the stuff I did when it was p2p was all free to me) but there is content you could  buy. I noticed extra npc's with buyable content but from what I saw the regular quests seemed all to be part fo the free package from when it was p2p.

the combat is more action oriented like which I liked so that is just preference I suppose. And the only pvp is in taverns so it's really just dueling. Mostly a pve game.
