Meh, Harry Potter MMO is fine for those who want it...
But I want a Police Academy MMO!!
As for the rumor from Massivley, Always wait for a bit of hard fact.
There are 3 types of people in the world. 1.) Those who make things happen 2.) Those who watch things happen 3.) And those who wonder "What the %#*& just happened?!"
If Turbine makes a Harry Potter mmo then I'll just cross them off the list of "waiting to see" mmo list. On the other hand, Warner Brothers owns the rights to the LOTR movie since they bought New Line Cinema. LOTR 2 with Mordor playable I would be extremely interested in. Also it has already been said that the PS3 is the preferred console because it is much easier to make for the Xbox 360 that way.

And of course Warner Brothers owns Turbine now so perhaps they looked at sony's free realms and thought that now was a perfect time to leverage their I.P. toward the mmo space.

I thought that various devs have said how hard it is to make games for the PlayStation 3 and how easy it is to make them for the XBOX 360.
All those memories will be lost in time, like tears in the rain.

I would not be shocked if that is the case. The success of Free Realms business model will spread to other mmo developers no doubt.

Well, that's what W.B. said, that they wanted to move into online merchandising opportunities:
In a statement, Warner Bros. also says it will now have “access to a proprietary digital publishing platform that enables dynamic direct-to-consumer relationships, robust online merchandising opportunities and vibrant e-commerce functionality for online games,” as well as a “social networking platform that can integrate ... self-developed online communities” with third-party social networks. Both, the company says, can be applied to its other businesses.

I would LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE a Harry Potter MMO.
I think if you haven't read the books, all of them, from start to finish, you are missing out. You can actually see her writing, and the entire groups mentality, change, especially as the series ends, you are missing out!
I think the whole way the series is handled, and if it could be handled similarly in the game, it could really help it.
Raiding the chamber of secrets...awesome. Taking on different houses and what not. I grew up with HP
Played: World of Warcraft (5Y), WarHammer (3M), Anarchy Online, Runescape (5+Y), Lord of the Rings Online, Runes of Magic, City of Heroes/Villains, Dungeons and Dragons Online, Fallen Earth (1M)
Currently Playing: Guild Wars Currently Trying: None Taking a Break From: EVE Online

Did you check to make sure those devs didnt work for Micro$oft first?
You probably got sucked into their trash marketting for a very, very bad gaming system that is the 360.
The only problem with sony is that they want all exclusives and lose the big names, but one day theyll wake up, take their place and shut the hell up.

I've never heard anything but this. Pay no attention to the mindless Sony fanboys, they know not what they say. Xbox 360 hardware architecture is very similar to that of a PC, making it much easier to program for. PS3 uses a very esoteric hardware architecture which, while potentially more powerful than the 360's, is (according to pretty much every dev interview I've ever read) a certifiable nightmare to program for properly by comparison.
It wouldn't be my thing but it could work out well. There are a lot of fans in the gaming ages or nearing sush age who would buy the game. It has a potential of millions of client, much $$$$ to be had out of such a game.

Asheron's Call 3 is more interesting than a Harry Potter MMO.

Harry potter...only cater to kids and girls... no thx ...hope to god this is not true lol.
Well, apparently Warner Bros. bought Turbine - but that doesn't mean a Harry Potter MMO. If you heard any rumors, you should link them.
Sorry I'll ask that a different way,
I was actually asking you why you thought they were working on a Harry Potter mmo.
though now I see that it is a rumor on Massivly.

almost as funny as a Twilight MMO
Yes it's a unverified rumour but that doesn't mean that it couldn't be true.

Yes, no video game should ever be made for kids and girls. Adult males only.

Can't be any worse than what they did to Lord of the Rings Online.

I could care less about a Harry Potter MMO. It's not something that interests me in the least.
However, taking another step forward with the Asheron's Call franchise would improve my current opinion on Turbine at the moment, for sure.
Um I would love this

Everyone will roll a Harry Potter and some will roll watsons, but ill be that rare carrot kid you guys are going to need in your raids.

Sorry guys but the PS3 is the main focus here because it will be alot easier to put it on the 360. Proof...

I would play a Harry Potter mmo. Very fun books, no matter your age or gender.
EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests
