Forum ranks... how do they work?

Hello!

Since I am a registered member on these boards, I try to understand on how the forum determines user ranks.

So I am a fresh user with several posts, but not insanely many of them, yet I have the "Elite" rank already. Oo

I have seen other users with so many more posts, and their rank is low...

 

So if anyone could tell me on how this works, I would be happy, as it is DRIVING ME MAD not being able to figure it out! T_T
