Looking for some suggestions it doesnt matter if its pay to play or free. We are looking for a solid fun game we can effectively duo in while waiting for groups or leveling when we havnet alot of time. Looking for something fairly fast paced not neccessarily fast leveling but something that keeps you going without tons of down time trying to find quests or figure out where to grind xp. Needs to be atleast decent graphics with a good amount of classes to choose from. Would like to find something with instances or something similar and good end game content with a decent community so we arent alone all the time or something that while we are leveling there are others to group with.
There are good games out there but we are afraid to try them because they have been around so long that most all of the players are end level, we are hoping to find something that is established but still has entry level players. Thank you for your help.

I would try LOTRO. If I were you. You and your wife can do most of the leveling together if you want. Go for the Brandywine server. In game name Cripop or Nego. I will get you into a great Kinship. I am very pleased with this game. Has improved vastly over the years. Quests are everywhere. Never hard to find more quests. The Epic Story line is great. Tells you kinda what happened behind the scenes of the movies. Great Game IMO. They have a 10 day trial too if you guys want to try it out.
Thats quite a request list... the closest thing which I've played that may satisfy you would by Aion... but as far as I recall, you may be disappointed by the endgame content. I think you're asking for too much tbh, good graphics, community, solo and group play, instancing, end game... I have no intention of referring games that have not been released yet so I cannot say anything about SW:TOR or TERA and so on.
FFXI meets all your requests, and better yet is when you have an LS{guild} of friends willing to help you with group content and XP party with often.
Click on my signature below and visit our Linkshell Forums for FFXI and the upcoming FFXIV, read the visitor instructions and general guidelines to learn more about us and say hi. We'll go from there if you're interested! We also have multiple Husband & Wife members, as well as 1 family of 4 that play together too!
if your looking for a game that is not a common hack and slash i must say try Atlantica online, im on it now playing in mycenae server level 50 and still happy with it.
Outstanding suggestions thanks alot we will check into them for certain.
google mmohut
check their game list they list them by xp if you so choose by quality,by rating
etc that list with xfire list and you ll have the perfect game for you and your loved ones!
World of Warcraft is my first suggestion. If you've played and exhausted that game for all its worth, then I suggest LoTRO. Those are the only two games I could in good conscious recommend.
what about AoC or Eq2? I dont know much about either are they still pretty much dead?
I haven't played AoC since last Spring, so I really don't know. I just got finished giving EQ2 another try.
EQ2 is a good game, but it's really showing its age due to the type of graphics it employs. There are plenty of quests to do though, moreso than any other game I'm pretty sure.
The things that turn me away from AoC and EQ 2 is the quality. Due to the competition in the genre, I can afford to require a high quality product with a load of features. AoC and EQ 2 are certainly better than most, but my experiences has always left me wide aware that it wasn't of the highest quality. Then you have the population concern. I can't speak to AoC's population, because I haven't played it in a long time. However, please keep in mind that any enthusiastic pro AoC replies will likely gloss over the truth. I'd make sure that you're very clear about how often you like to group, and at what level ranges. The same goes for EQ 2. EQ 2 is top heavy, and very few new people start EQ 2 anymore. That's just my experience on the highest population server. As with any game that's several years old, it's harder to find groups for the group stuff, since most people are at top level. This is another good reason to play WoW, and it goes back to Blizzard creating and maintaining a quality product. Blizzard has made it to where you can que up on the dungeon finder to fill your group, so you're not waiting forever for a group. While most games have either no population interested in redoing low to mid level dungeons, WoW's dungeon finder makes it to where you can find a group for any dungeon fairly quickly.
I'm also biased, because I just got finished beating STO, and playing EQ2. I've played many MMORPG's, and it's just much better for me when I play a high quality game, that also has a good population of players dispersed through all levels of the game. Unless you start a game at release, it's almost improbable to ever find groups for any MMO after its been out for 3-6 months. Most people start a MMO at release, and those who subscribe past the first month are usually max level by the end of that first month or the third month. While there's some new people and rerollers, it just gets harder and harder to find groups after that initial release rush. WoW is an exception.
Nate what are you playing now, still playing STO? Just curious because TPA just tanked for the last time, (not due to the game of choice for once).
Just wondering what you were up to.
I am currently sitting in Guild Wars with my wife running around, while I try and figure out where to go.
I can recomend EQ2 , its a very good game, yes its old but they are adding content every couple of months, the graphics are getting a boost with the 3.0 shader, they also have the mentor system where a high level character can group with a low level one, so if you join a helpful guild you will always have people to group for dungeons and group content. Eq2 has a free trial give it a speed run.
No, I'm not still playing STO. I quit STO a couple weeks ago after hitting max level and completing all of the content. After giving EQ 2 another fair shake, even bought the newest compilation pack, I decided to play WoW. I figured if you're going to play a MMORPG, you might as well play one that's of high quality.
I'm sorry to hear about TPA. I didn't think TPA had a future after it fell apart the first time. It just goes to show that ambition and vision isn't enough. You need a strong guild leader to have a successful guild. That strong leader needs committed members, and I just didn't get the feeling most members were committed. That's why I left.
AoC has fewer servers now so the population seems to be good now for getting groups. I've done a new mission (a teaser for the expansion) a bunch of times that requires 10 people and these have been forming easily.
You can duo most of the content and there are quite a few classes that work really well together. AoC has several hybrid-type classes that lend themselves well to this. bearshaman (a melee healer), Herald of Xotli (a melee nuker), Dark Templar (a group healing/buffing tank) to name a few.
Also, as to your concern about all players being high-level. I see a lot of altoholism in AoC and there is an expansion coming out that is likely to bring in new people and new racial alts.
