Help in choosing an MMO based on time factor.

OldfartOldfart Member Posts: 13

I have played 2 MMOs, Lineage 2 and (currently) Vanguard.  However, after playing VG for a few months, I am realizing that the nature of the game is much better suited to players who can get on and play 3, 4, 5, 6 hours at a stretch.  You just can't really get anywhere with many of the quests that involve the bigger dungeons in a shorter period of time.  Unfortunately, this is not me.  I tend to only be able to play 1 - 2 hours at a time, even on weekends.  So, even though I otherwise like VG, including my guild and the general community, I am wondering if there are some other MMOs that would be a better fit for a player that plays 1 - 2 hours at a time.  Does anybody have any games to recommend?  The cost of teh game doesn't matter, although I do want a mature player base.  Thanks for any help.

I'd suggest LoTRO, it has plenty of quests, deeds and other things that can be done in short bursts, and you'll benefit from the rest experience system. It also has a mature community compared to some MMOs, although I can only speak for the official European role-play server.

My biggest recommendation to you would probably have to be Guild Wars. I haven't played the game in ages but when I did, which was when I was quite a bit younger now, my parents restricted my time on the computer to an hour or two at a time. From that I was at no inablility to play and get just as far in Guild Wars as my friends. Heck now-a-days the game will tell you that you have been on for 2 hours and should take a break.

I would say you would benefit looking into it, but also keep in mind that Guild Wars II is getting geared up probably to be release in the next couple of years I would imagine. But, Guild Wars I is most certainly still worth the look.

Lotro can be good for you then. Mature players and 2 hours of game time should be enough. But i never gone to the high end of the game, don't know if it is enough time at this point.

i agree guild wars original is your best bet to start !its cheap(price wise)and its great you can reach lvl 20(max)very fast !

but if you decide to stay in the beginning area,pre-searing(rp heaven ,or so i hear)you ll still have lot of content to cover!

yep i didnt have one but GUILD WARS  is a proper choice for your limits!the pvp is insane in the game by the way!

its top notch if you ever feal like pvping!

I also vote for LotRO. I play it casually on the side and generally dont play for more than 2 hours at a time.
