Lotro's welcome back weekend just ended (I snagged almost all of the deeds) and I am in need of another Mmo to try. I'm mostly a fantasy fan, although I am willing to branch out into other Genres should the title be decent enough. In my mind there is a taboo against free to play games so I am uninterested in trying them at all (Final Fantasy 13 is as far as I am willing to venture in the world of asain games, I may be willing to try a western f2p if convinced...).
I would like a free trial; I'm game hopping for a reason...
Off the top of my head I have already tried or subscribed to the following;
WoW
Potbs
Lotro
EQ1 & 2
SWG
Eve
Warhammer
Aoc
Daoc
Entropia Universe
UO
DDO
STO
GW
EDIT: I have already played vanguard...

Good games you didn´t try :
Champions online
Vanguard
Fallen Earth
City of Heroes/Villains
That should keep you busy for a while
If you're willing to try something VERY different from the mainstream MMO ( and it looks like you are based on your history of games played), why not give this a whirl?

3:pvp come truelly enjoy the game and all the quirks make sense now!
from the comment i heard last week-end most enjoy this game!
I'd echo what the other posters above said and add a tiny snapshot.
City of Heroes - amazing character customization both visually and regards to powers. Although class-based, it has more actual possible options than most skill based systems. You can fine to your character regarding dps, cc, AoE, speed, defense, etc. etc. etc. Hell, you can customize your own missions.
Ryzom - sandboxy as anything out there. Probably the best mob AI out - i.e. don't think you can keep grinding the same mobs, they will get pissed and send friends. Don't judge the graphics until you realize how handcrafted the world is, seasons, weather, and they affect mobs and nodes.
Fallen Earth - A post-apoc partially functional themepark in a very large sandbox. Very open character development with some soft factional limitations. AI is also quite good, mobs range, call for help, go prone.
"Never met a pack of humans that were any different. Look at the idiots that get elected every couple of years. You really consider those guys more mature than us? The only difference between us and them is, when they gank some noobs and take their stuff, the noobs actually die." - Madimorga
City of Heroes / Villains
Vanguard is good Game to try out...
I forgot to mention I have already played Vanguard. I guesse I could give Ryzom a chance...

Here's two responses by use of links.
The first compares Ryzom with Vanguard, wriiten by someone who I enjoy and respect because he's actively played both. http://voyagesofvanguard.wordpress.com/2008/09/22/vanguard-versus-ryzom-does-hardcore-work/
Although the next link is from a post back in 2006, it provides a nice summary of the PvP options:http://forums.ryzom.com/showthread.php?t=25244
