I have just started playing WoW to take a holiday from Eve (my second in nearly two years) and I suddenly thought "why take a holiday from a game, surely I mean a break?"
I then thought about this a bit more and realised that I had always considered Eve a hobby rather than a game as it is quite pleasant just to log on, talk to old friends, visit a pleasure hub and then say goodbye (I presume trainspotters have the equivalent of a pleasurehub [new cockney rhyming slang word perhaps]). But when I said to my missus that I would be taking a holiday from Eve (groan from her, she hates me interupting her endless soaps with inane comments) to play WoW (not sure I liked her smile then), I wondered whether I was taking this "game" too seriously.
PS, I love WoW in the little time I have played it but I also realise this love will only be a short affair. It is just a bit too sexy and shallow for me.
