Courier Missions?

Are Courier Missions a scam or possible scam?  I understand that you take your chances with Escrow stuff but I was under the impression that the Courier Missions were a safe, as long as you deliver, way to make money.

The courier missions from escrow are STILL bugged. They take your collaretal but CANT be completed, petition under exploit & you will get collaretal back.

Agent courier missions are ok & most times easy to complete but pay little when agent is low level.

I'm talking about them Missions you get from the "Missions" but up by the "Fittings" "Insurance" and the other buttons.  Than it's just several rows of pickup drop-off payment and I forget what the one is called. -How much you have to put on deposit.

Are those what you're calling Agent Missions?

I only done agent courrier mission. Concerning courrier from the "escrow" menu, well, some looks like bad trick. For example some players ask you a 20M collateral to make you earn 1M, the problem is that they ask you to go in PK claimed area where players kill you on sight. You, given the size of the courrier, have to go there in an indus which is a simple suicide.

you die, you loose the contract and the 20M collateral. That's how some bad guys earn money from haulers....

Hey guys dont diss courier missions too much they keep the wheels of the EVE industry turning. Some scammers are out there no doubts but just be careful who you take deals from. The trouble with courier missions is that if you want to transport minerals then to make sure u don't get robbed yourself the collateral has to be atleast equal to the value of the minerals. Then imagine you want someone to haul 1 million Isogen (which I have done before) - and offer say ten million for completing the mission, they end up having to pay a massive collateral something like 100 million?? 1 million Isogen can fit into most industrial ships which makes it an attractive deal for anyone, especially since I do all my couriers through safe space and not too far either. It's an easy way to make money, provided you have the capital to put down as collateral, which you get back at the end of course.

One good way to have lots of stuff moved is to separate it into smaller loads. Instead of putting the whole 1 million Isogen down as a courier mission, break it down into 50000 Isogen segments (of which there will be 20). Thus the collateral is 5 million per segment, and the pay is 50000ISK. This means that a newb can take on a load of say one segment, but a more experienced courier can take say all the segments, or as many as he wants/can afford/ can capacitate in his ship. This is how I work it whenever I need to have things hauled, usually ore tbh minerals aint usually much of a problem unless im planning on making 5 battleships, then some help is useful.

You just need to be careful where the courier missions are taking you. If they are taking you into unsecure space in an unescorted indy ... well, use your head, and avoid those!
