Well what happened was I had 3 level 90s.. 1 jedi, 1 Bh and 1 master dancer The jedi/bh was on naritus and in the process of being moved. The dancer was on bria. I logged on the dancer found a respec npc in coronet and respecced out of the level 90 dancer into a level 5 smuggler. I was on the ground at level 5 with no proper weapon or guidance with where to go. I had other characters essentially level 1 who I logged into working servers but they logged into a black void lol.. I could see the character and run around but nothing was there.. I assume they just have to be deleted and remade to get to the new tutorial but honestly Im not logging in to play to grind again.. Ive done jedi the old way and my grinding in that game is done lol.. I actually grinded my extra character slot bh to 90 aswell.. So ya I dislike leveling in this game especially in the new system.. At least the old system had nice animations to watch..
There's three classes of XP in SWG, Combat, Crafter and Entertainer. When you respec, your XP total from you current XP class isn't transferred to the new one so in your case, respecing from Entertainer to a Combat profession means you will be set at the lowest level. The game will always remember your XP totals between each XP class however, so if you were to respec back to entertainer you'd be a level 90. If you want to start the quest series, go to Mos Eisley and talk to the Twi'lek to the left of the Starport as you exit. Right or wrong, the game kinda assumes that if you're respecing you already know where the quests start and doesn't take into account those that are returning.
These days, there's quite a few different options for grinding compared to when you leveled that BH. While you have that legacy quest option, there is also the option of terminal missions, player created quests, space and collections. Of course, most servers also have an AFK leveling setup at various locations that will (legitly) do the leveling for you. AFK leveling wouldn't be my choice as I think you miss out some important things but that's up to you...
i actually like playing STO but i also love playing SWG and anything star wars so yea i said omg its the end of the world as we all know it LMFAO, i love both Star Wars and Star Trek LOL. But i have been thinking bout coming back and playing SWG as an alt game and also wanting to know other then Starsider is there any good servers to play on or what is the best guild to be part of on Starsider then? Take a look at these charts, it'll give you an idea of how the relative population on each server is.

. . .after mindlessly grinding Klingons in STO for the past 3 days, and being bored to tears by the quest pop up dialogues and no true interaction, playing SWG feels like a breath of fresh air in comparison.
Glad you realized quite quickly how stale, worthless and lifeless STO is, and hope you find solace and more enjoyment in SWG.

I just feel sorry for those lifetime sub'ers, they are going to be awfuly lonely really quick. Sort of reminds me of the early days of SWG. Tons of subs up front only to plummet shortly afterwards.
I am glad to see SWG picking up so many new folks though.

Flurry is NOT dead, it has the second largest population of any server and is the number one server for PvP currently. Where exactly did you go to not see people?

Yes Flurry is dead, more dead than back in Nov/December, not a single person on my friends list was online yesterday when I logged in for 20 minutes.
I rolled on Star Strider and so far I still see new players in the starter zones. As a mater of fact I haven't yet been to a legacy quest mission and not seen a player my lvl.
So far so good. I just hope the new SW will be just as fun.

Tux whole guilds are leaving Starsider due to the lag and coming to Flurry, we have double the weekly PvP kills with 1/2 of the officers SS has now and that will only increase over time.
Looks like the launch of STO was to the benefit of SWG / SOE instead of Cryptic.
Why is that? SWG gives out a free month and you're surprised people are trying it?
They only give out a free month to people who werent active in a certain time period, not all vets, something about when you were last active and what not and i think i had 1 months activation last year in november and i got excluded.

Alright. I was just going by what I saw. If I were new, I'd pick SS.
ITT: fanbois of old crappy MMO laught at new crappy MMO to make themselves feel better. For the record: I have reached max lvl in SWG as crafter and reached rank 7 in space, max rank in STO. SWG ground combat is ugly mess (hence crafter) and space combat is dull after while. So only "advantage" of SWG over STO is economy.
inorite?! Too funny..
And economy of SWG is an advantage??? Maybe preNGE it was...it sure as hell isn't now though.

Negative sir. I bet you didn't see more than ONE new "player". New "toons" I'll believe, but I highly doubt you saw any new "players". People on dying servers see re-rolling on SS as their last shot.
I'm probably heading back to SWG myself. For all the reasons that the OP mentioned and a couple more. Even the CHANGED SWG is much better than any of the "new" fast developed MMOs coming out, now.
And I too, have been quite the vocal "disgruntled vet" on SOE management of the game. I've just came to the conclusion that boycotting SWG is not doing the industry, or myself any good, anylonger.

The NGE didn't have any effect on the economy lol. Maybe SOE's sales...but my items are still selling in game. Best sales in the past three years now.
Longing for Skyrim, The Old Republic and Mass Effect 3
OK Badger, your time to gloat. lol I'm probably heading back to SWG myself. For all the reasons that the OP mentioned and a couple more. I finally quit the second time a little over two years ago when I found it impossible to find enough people to not only agree to be in a raid (DWB) at the same time but also commit to actually getting past the first room. A bit of resistance and suddenly everyone had something else to do.
Months of trying to do it and all anyone wanted to do at all was go after some dead sith lord who wasn't supposed to awaken for another fifteen years.
Now before anyone goes on about how that particular bunker is all for one guy to get his armor(piece by piece):
Could never find a group interested in the droid factory raid against a reborn HK-47.
Or Axkva Minh.
Or IG-88(the easy raid)
It was always about Exar Kun, the Tusken King or being a jedi at Restuss.
Forget about us other "unfortunates" who didn't easy our way through with the Force.
Space was awesome. Unfortunately could never find anyone either good enough or interested in either going after the Corvette(Ace qualification quest) or even a bit of space PvP.
Eventually there weren't even any entertainers in Theed.
You know, for some of us, the whole allure of SWG started with the revelation that it was set in a time in which there was one jedi(Yoda) and one learner. A galaxy full of soldiers, bounty hunters, dancers, pilots, smugglers and spies. Think about how immersion breaking it was to exit the Starport in Theed, an Imperial world, just after the first movie(A New Hope) and see an ocean of robes and lightsabres in the main square.

looks like Starsider is the obvious choice thanks
Came back also, didn't give STO a chance after playing CO. Seems they both are sharing the same fate which is highly unfortunate.
So enjoying SWG for now until Earthrise.
Glad you realized quite quickly how stale, worthless and lifeless STO is, and hope you find solace and more enjoyment in SWG.

Why am I reminded of that billboard off the Highway?
Miss me now? W.
lol
It's a great billboard. I linked it on my FB page, lol.
LotRO: Meneldor: Riders of the Riddermark
I came back after trying out STO as well...But Flurry is just SO dead now...No one left from My once-mighty Guild...And I'm not paying to Transfer...
Still only 2 Characters Per Server...My City is gone...Just not the same...Kinda sad to be honest...
Still, SWG is about a million times better than that STO borefest that's for certain...
