Kotaku is reporting on a rumor concerning Red 5 Studios being hit by layoffs, along with the complete sidelining of their super-secretive and highly anticipated MMO led by former World of Warcraft developers Mark Kern, William Petras and Taewon Yun.

The game was to be a futuristic MMOFPS using the Project Offset engine. Sad to hear, I was looking forward to what they had up their sleeve...

Bad news indeed, I'm curious where the information that it was an MMOFPS came from though? I know they where going for something big and impressive but I hadn't heard it was FPS.
