DC Universe combat question

I am really hoping that combat has a different feel than COH and CO. I have seen the CES 2009 gameplay video which makes me think the answer is no.
Maybe I am just not made to play superhero games but I have found the combat in COH and CO so un-fun that I struggle to play even up to level 5. I really do not know what the issue is, but I suspect that the issue I have with CO combat may be excessive lag. I have played many different MMORPGs and found most at least fun enough to reach a decent level. I cannot put my finger on what feels wrong in these superhero MMOs, but I have yet to find one that works for me. Is DC Universe going to have the same feel as CO?
I am starting to think these super MMOs may not be for me.

actually i played several games on the xbox that were free flowing button mashers but with a lvling aspect i liked those quite a bit and turning something like that into an mmo would be nice
