Sounds like you'd be extremely interested in DDO.

mm only exe quality graphic f2p game i know is ddo, hellgate london is the highest quality there is ,since everybody own 64 bit computer nowaday they should be very successfull when they relunch this since there arent lot of 64 bit mmo out so far

64 bit will make all ram avail avail.instead of locking you at 3.25 gig.

most f2p games are low story grinders i'm afraid

I think the closest to your requirements is probably dungeons and dragons online only thing it loses out on is the fact that pvp is arena style

games like anarchy online(low graphics atm but with a revamp on the way) or maybe taikodom (if you can ever get it to work) may also be worth a look as is the chronicles of spellborn

You might like Allods Online..it's kinda like ROM but you get more exp from quests than grinding..i only made it to lvl 13 so don't know much but it has a lot of pvp 20ish+  (quest zones are full on pvp in the 20s i think) plus semi interesting classes and astral plane flying ships..

Anarchy Online if you've never tried it is worth it just because..just give it time past the newbie starter zone as that place is a little bizzarre and nothing as good as when you hit Rubika proper.  (AO is free if you dont buy any expansions..and you don't need them to enjoy it if you get into the game) ((oh the chr models do kinda suck but eventually..maybe a gfx overhaul))

I am sort of like you, I like those qualities in an MMORPG, and honestly, RoM has been the one I came back to. RoM and Perfect World International are both high quality games though, PWI just has more of the feel of one of those grindy games from Korea, and I've heard that it gets pretty grindy and RoM has a wide range of Armor customization.

So if you don't want to read the above, try these games out:

    Perfect World International

    RoM

    FLYFF

    Anarchy Online

Allods will be a good F2P game. Also as someone mentioned Spellborn is quite unique and fun, but only if you get an active guild and actually have people to play with. I personally can't ever find anyone to play with. I join a guild and then the guild disbands etc while I am off a week due to watching my daughter and her not taking her naps and giving me time to play. As for RoM I do enjoy the game but only once again if you have some people to play with. It can be fun or it can be boring just running around killing stuff etc etc etc.

I have played most of the other games mentioned.

Perfect World and Flyff are almost the same game. I mean teh graphics are different and the storylines are different but they mostly turn into fly to this place and kill 50 monsters hand into NPC. Then once you get so high you just have to kill things to gain levels for you can get the next few quest for the next level and then keep grinding

I do feel Allods once released will be a top contender in the MMO genre, just not for a the F2P game. I have been playing MMOs since Ultima Online.  Allods is a lot like World of Warcraft, just like RoM is and many of the other MMOs on the market due to games trying to gain the success of WoW while trying to mimic the game play. The thing I do love about Allods is all the unique classes and how classes are unique to the races. Such as a Human Paladin is called a Crusader and an Elven Paladin is a Templar, etc. I  also enjoy a game that actually has a cool psionic class and Allods does this as well. I wish I had more time to play the closed beta but having a kid it makes it quite hard.

One game no one has mentioned is the bloody game called Requiem. They recently did a big update that some hated and some enjoyed. One thing I do not like about the game is that you can not do zone chat unless you pay to play, this didn't use to be the case.

    I hope I have helped,

I'd also like to know how this game is. Is it releasing anytime soon? Is there an open beta right now?

  • drbaltazardrbaltazar Member UncommonPosts: 7,856

allods is nowhere even near ready for open beta!probably in march or april!but its still a good game just its in close beta.

i rater wait 3 more month and have a great game then see them release too early because of external pressure and then find they got too many issue they should have waited a month or 2

Are they giving out keys or something? How is everyone playing it?

  • fatenabu1fatenabu1 Member Posts: 381

This site and some others gave away closed beta keys for beta testers, it is fun to play around with but all closed beta characters will be wiped so don't get too invested in your char if you do play right now. Open beta chars will not be wiped. I think Open Beta will start in Marchish
