So Many Titles out There...

So how do you know which MMORPG to pick?? Should I just scan through the homepage of this site and pick a title to try?

What stand out for everyone, to go ahead and pick a game out?

Thank you for your help, I am a newbie...

If you go to the front page there is a list of the top "hyped" games that are in development and then there is a tab that says released.  It show the top games that are out right now according to users' votes.  I would recommend starting there and reading through those to see what interests you.

If you like sci-fi blowing up ships I'd go with Eve

If you like fantasy PvE environments I would go with LOTRO

If you want a good PvP game I would go with DFO.

If you want a good F2P I would probably go with Atlantica Online (combat is Final Fantasy style)

Thank you so much that is a great starting point. I think I have bit work to do now. I am more interested in the F2P ones I think...

Can I just say that I find the MMORPG community so helpful =)

    Are you into F2P games?

(I have historically been a console player)

Check out the FLGame forums here and they will help out

Also, try the MMORPG Finder, may give you some leads

Unfortunatly there are so many MMOs out there, the industry has become saturated.

    Good Luck

WoW is the most popular title and it has a free trial.

Then I would try Second Life.  It's 180 degrees different from WoW and it's free.

Many games have a free trial.

If your interested in F2p games I think I can help.

D&D Online is a f2p game heavily focused on quests and dungeon crawling.

Atlantica Online is a Turn based mmo think final fantasy combat from the old console days. It has great graphics and some really fun pvp.

Guild Wars is a spectacular pvp game while having a nice side of questing, dungeon crawls, Group only zones game does require you to buy game box to play but has no monthly fee.

Anarchy Online is an old Sci-fi mmo it has no equal when it comes to complexity and depth and has an amazing Quest system.

Runes of Magic is a classic fantasy mmo with a twist it has a dual class system.

Perfect World International just released a new expansion with a new race its a high fantasy mmo with an amazing amount of quests and really pretty graphics.

In my opinion if you really enjoy F2p games or are just casual and dont want to invest in a monthly fee game these games are the ones to start with.

That's not really sci-fi, that's post-apocalyptic which I really don't like much.  I never got into the whole cyberpunk thing, it strikes me as absurdly depressing.  I want expansive optimistic science fiction, a whole universe to explore and that just doesn't exist.

    WoW, EVE or Darkfall.

The only viable options, in my opinion, but go ahead and try as many as you can if you want.

Avoid any websites about MMOs with forums on them, to many damned opinion to decide.
