The Campfire System

So www.terafans.com recently got some new info on an interesting game mechanic in TERA. There are these campfires that you can set on the ground, and they can recover your health and "condition" by standing by the fire. Now when your condition reaches 100% you get a maximum health boost. You can also use "parchments" to give yourself some special effects i.e. stat bonuses. You also need to keep the campfire burning by putting fire starters in it. Sounds like it could be very useful.

    Sounds cool..hopefully it doesn't turn out to be more of a pain in the....than it's worth :)

    it worked great in SWG until SOE took it away...

    Campfire?  I really hope it's not a automatic ability push 7 and bam a fire on the ground lol.  Sounds neat.  Hopefully they make it so you have to go gather your own kindle and materials before you start a camp fire.

     

    EDIT: Guess I should have read the article

     

    1.1) Right-Clicking a parchment near the campfire(s) will let you use them.

    2.2) Putting firestarters in the campfire(s) will keep the fire alive.

    3.3) Staying in rested condition near the campfire will recover your "condition" back to 100%

    4.4) Using parchments near the campfire(s) will give you special effects.

    Cool concept.  I like the way this game is sounding more and more.

    Very cool =) Brings me back to good old Star Wars Galaxies with their campsite feature. Was a very nice feature and made it more fun to go on the hunt and travel around.

    one of the best reasons to take up Ranger in SWG was the ability to make a camp that could keep out critters - so group members could rest up, heal, and, if had an entertainer along, get rid of fatigue etc, even the downtime in game could be fun!

    I am guilty of taking up ranger in SWG so me and my friends would always have a place to rest while hunting. This might sound silly but camps/fires are a big thing for me in an MMO. It tells me they want other stuff out of their game then just grind grind grind. It's the little things like this that make or break games for me.

    Wow this campfire idea sounds pretty neat.

    If you think about it, they could add more possibilities to campfires, just like in SWG.

    But it sounds ok even like this.

    I hope they get more of these nice ideas.
