Everytime I try to start the game it acts like it's going to load up - goes to a black screen likes it's going into the game - then after about 2 seconds it exits the screen and the program is closed. I thought it may have just been the streaming client that was doing it - but I installed the full client and the same problem is still there.
I played it a few years ago on a crappy computer that could barely run the game and have since built a new one - but can't play the game.. it's not my specs that are the issue. No idea what's going on. Any advice?

Could be so many things, very hard to diagnose somthing from a forum with litle information.. So I will throw this one out , if you are running vista it can play up if you dont have the service packs installed. Also drivers can be an issue along with a Hardware heat problem.
Any more information would be good
Hmm.. If the game goes to a black screen during load up and then just shuts down, that can be a sign that you may have a hardware issue that is being brought out when it attempts to play this game. My old rig would have the same exact thing happen to it when I played Warhammer. Turned out I had a faulty motherboard.
Like the previous poster said: there could be a number of different issues. Try and update your drivers and see if there is any change.
I have XP - it only occurs with EQII - and I've been playing several mmos recently. I'll make sure my drivers are updated but I don't think that's the case. I looked on the forums under the trial section on EQ's site and a lot of people are having an issue where it does the exact same thing.
Edit: Ok - well the drivers fixed the issue. I feel pretty dumb right about now - didn't even realize they were out of date. I'd probably never update them if I didn't have problems like these because I just forget all about it. Thanks - only 4 days left on trial now .
I had a similar problem when i first loaded EQ2. For me it was the audio drivers there was causing mine to crash. I'd fire it up, see the cursor changes and then poof it was gone. I updated my video drivers got the same thing, and then updated my audio drivers and it seemed to work for me.
Have you added any new hardware to the PC recently?
