Allods Online (if you can get into the beta) or Lord of the Rings Online.

"IRL is a pretty upstanding MMO with thousands of classes, a lot of PvP and even some pretty unique emotes and titles you can acquire. Explore that world first, then we'll talk about this virtual one."

Allods online seems promising, might keep an eye on that.

Need more games though. Come on, is this what MMORPG.com can bring? Come on!

Um. Kind of, yeah. It may be called MMORPG.com, but most of the games out there have the title MMO: SUCK written all over it.

I just gave you the 2 best choices of what I thought you may prefer.

You could try Age of Conan or Warhammer Online, but they may not meet your needs.

Lineage II private servers. If you find a good one, like the one I'm currently playing and you actually give it a chance you'll most likely end up loving it. Way more fun that WoW imo, open world pvp anywhere any place anytime (except in town of course) crazy fun raids.

To prove there's a bunch of people:

I hate retail lineage 2, I don't find it fun at all, it takes years to get to lvl 80 unless you're a machine...or bot.

Your in the same rut as about 75% of the people on these boards.  go to the general and read about people not finding anything worth while after trying everything,

It seems your biggest issue is the population, and whether it seems like there is lots of people running around. This all depends all whether the game has been out long enough for early zones to go barren, or whether the game doesn't have that thick of a population to begin with... and I will remind you that nothing will seem as active as a WoW server these days.

To mess around with, I suggest Free Realms if you hadn't already. Makes for a good backup thanks to the tons of minigames. Otherwise do Aion if since it's most likely to be the next most crowded game being played atm, and I hear that Abyss PvP is fairly decent. Also try Shin Megami Tensei: Online up to lvl 30 (where it starts to hurt), it plays unlike any other game (mabinogi-style w/ pets) and there always seems to be somebody playing still. Fairly sure any active guilds in that one are serious.

    ok thanks for reply.

Free Realms seems fun and populated. Looks like alot of fun when you're on Ventrilo/Skype

    with a guild.

However, is it worth playing without paying to be a member?

    IMO, ya.

The classes that came with it are nothing special and I am sure most guilds will have a blacksmith to make you gear if you do the mining minigames for materials. I don't know if any changes have been made since last I played, but it was real wide-open for non-members and never really interested me in joining or forced a decision.
